A/C won’t blow on high

Got in the Jeep this morning (97 TJ 4.0 5sp) and the A/C would blow in all settings but high. Saw threads about the opposite (high only working) but not all but high.

Any obvious paths I should check?

I had a similar issue. First only high would work, blower motor resistor resolved that. Then the third speed would not work, fan switch resolved that and now all speeds. Work. ~30 dollar part and easy change.

Thanks, I have to pull the dash anyhow to upgrade the radio, might as well replace the HVAC switch. Any parts source better than the other for the early style switch? Any other things that I should look at when the center console is open?

Is the sliding style AC control rebuildable? Not seeing aftermarket on these

Before assuming the worst.... The problem may only be dirty contacts inside the switch.
Go to Walmart or AP store and purchase some Electronic Contact Cleaner (Plastic Safe).
Disassemble the bezel face, remove the A/C controls and disconnect the wires from the fan speed switch. With power disconnected from the switch spray the cleaner into the switch and rotate the switch back and forth from low speed to high speed several times and then allow to sit for 5 minutes OR blow compressed air into the switch so the cleaner fully evaporates. Reconnect the wiring to the switch and test the fan speed switch.

Similar line of thinking here but check the wire running to the blower fuse and make sure it isn’t corroded.

The fan switch, the one which controls the speed was a very easy change. The teeth on mine had become very loose. 5 minutes to change and good as new.

If that was the case it wouldn't work on the slower speeds either.
I understood the high speed blower on 97’s to be on its own fuse with the 3 lower speeds going through the resistor on a separate fuse behind the glovebox. I could be wrong though.

Edit: I was wrong I didn’t specify the high speed blower fuse under the hood.

Not ideal in the North Texas summer heat
Oh shit! Been there, done that. Arlington, TX is my birthplace.
Nice thing about Texas is there's usually a breeze blowing, in the summer a nice hot, scorching breeze around the clock!
That's why I love GA so much.
Hope you get it fixed.

Well, for the next 2 years, its the teens daily driver, Worse comes to worse, I have a Bikini top for it, she can deal with the heat.

But next weekend or so I am putting in a double din radio in and have the switch on order, will start there try and figure it out when the whole console is out.
