Hello I am new to the forum, I was wondering if you guys could help me? I have a 1997 2.5 Liter 4 Cylinder Jeep SE with 80,894 miles on it and unfortunately I need to do a frame swap as my frame broke up on the front driver’s side. I have been looking online for frames but really don’t know where to look and kind feel over whelmed looking, I would really like to fix it as it would be cheaper for me in the long run. A local shop said I could do a frame swap for about $5000 that’s also including buying the frame. I would really appreciate the help as I love my Jeep and it’s my baby, I would die if I ever had to lose it! lol I would appreciate any tips on places to buy frames from! Thank-You All so much for your time and help!

I had to look for quite a while to find a frame for mine. The good thing about it was I was able to buy parts you will need when swapping the frame like stainless brake lines And body mounts. When you find a frame I highly suggest getting it sand blasted and hot dipped galvanized. You can buy brand new ones but they are not the same dimension as the stock frame last I knew. Just keep looking be patient.

I should be getting a frame this week but the issue is getting it shipped to you without spending a fortune

another option is to have your frame professionally repaired
Oh wow congrats on getting a frame! I hope to find one with not too bad shipping! I don’t know if they could professionally repair it as the guy told me I would have to swap the whole frame 😭

@Squatch, was it you who had a lead on some clean frames? I could have sworn it was you.

Anyways, if it's not him, you can check https://daveysjeeps.com

They usually always have at least a clean frame or two. I'd also check Craigslist, post an ad in the Wanted section, and eBay is worth checking too.

Here's an example of one of many I found on eBay just now:

He had the lead on clean tubs.

Look up baseline 4x4 on Facebook. They part southern jeeps and almost always have a couple TJ frames for sale. They are a bit spendy, but all you need to do is drive there and pick it up. They are in NW Indiana (Albion). Not sure where in Michigan you are but baseline is about a 2.5 hour drive from grand rapids.

If you want to repair, you can have Neely's Restoration take a look (if your a "best-Sider" anyway). I've seen some of the garbage he's repaired... It's pretty amazing.

Oh Thank-You so much! Sorry for the late response, my father has been dealing with some medical issues and I also have so I have been busy dealing with that. But that’s not too far as I am in the Grand Rapids area, I would just need something rent something to pick it up with if I find one! I will definitely contact Neely’s and see if I can send pictures as the tow company didn’t want to tow it to one of my local shops as he didn’t think it was safe to tow.. 😫 I miss my Jeep! It’s my baby lol 😂

Neely's is in Marne. Where about in GR are you?

There were 3 or 4 4 cylinder TJ frames sitting in a JY in Ontario, OR for $500 on carpart.com
