My intermittent turn signal issue....again

I know I have posted about this before, but it's back.
Every once in awhile, when I hit the right turn signal, I get the dreaded quick flasher on the dash.
So I have already replaced the front right turn signal socket, but the last two times it happened (twice this week) it was the right rear signal. I got out of the jeep and tapped on the rear signal and it started working, both times.
Today, I removed the entire signal assembly from the jeep, cleaned the electrical connection and re-installed it.
I don't think the problem is in the wiring harness itself, because merely tapping on it wouldn't move the wiring. I also pulled the bulb, which is new, and checked the socket for corrosion and it was clean.
Any Ideas before I buy a whole new signal assembly?
There's not much to it, internally, but I did notice that the screw holes that hold the fixture to the tub are sort of rusty and I believe that is how these are grounded?

Being that you tapped on it, and the rear turn signal started working, that pretty much cements the fact it's a connection issue. The taillight wiring has a ground wire going to it, so those screws holes don't affect the ground. I hate to say it, but I would either double check the connections again as much as possible, or just buy some new taillights (since they are cheap enough).

Hey, not a bad time to upgrade to LED taillights anyways!

@Chris , Maybe I will dig into it again tomorrow, but everything "looked" good. I even sprayed both sides of the plug connector with electrical cleaner and let it dry before plugging back together. Maybe the socket the main bulb sits in is loose or something!
Gee, I'd really hate to have to upgrade!
DO those lights you have require a new relay to prevent hyperflash?

Yep, you need one of these new LED flasher relays to get rid of the hyperflash:

It's just a thought if you do end up upgrading. You'll also love the reverse lights on those things. They're so damn bright it's like you have a light bar on the rear when you put it in reverse!

I'm always up for an upgrade! I was contemplating the LEDs anyway since I have LED headlights.
Guess I might have to dip into my secret gun money to get them!

It's a reasonably inexpensive upgrade, and a great safety upgrade too. People behind you will not miss these brake lights!
