What is this RAIN you speak of? Nothing happening on the Northwest Plateau/Northwest Highlands... dry and dusty.Pulled the doors and installed hinge mounted mirrors to be legal. First doors off cruise of the year. Its a small window before our rains start up here.
I live in California. But from WA state. The problem with CA drivers is 80% of the year there is no rain. And everyone drives like a rabid rat in a maze. Normal speeds are 80+ and the speed limit is 65. But all year millions of vehicles drip oil all over the roads. So once it does rain. Its like ice skating on corners and stops. The oil and water create a slick.I have yet to see drivers as bad as Californians. The drivers here have their own quirks, but overall are far better than 99% of drivers found in California. Usually if I see somebody here doing something completely stupid - getting in EVERYBODY'S way, etc, etc - there's a California plate on the car in question.
All that work and not a single pic.put some tube doors on...5minutes my eye,it was more like 3hrs to"adjust"(die grinder,hammer,WD-40)but i dont feel like im gonna fall out any more and they look cool...
Dude. All that rollbar padding and cover your throwing away is worth about a hundred bucks. Id hang on to it. Hard to find a complete set. Even of just the padding. Or give it away.it began as a simple exploratory surgery, to see if my roll bars were all red or half-assed:

it ended with a full blown exorcism

tomorrow I'll address the bars above the doors, looks to be straight black pipes, but with the soft top surround, thing, on there I'm not sure taking the padding off of them would even be noticeable. If'n I one day make the move far enough south & toss the full doors I'll rip all that crap off, including the top itself, really clean things up & make it a permanent topless sled
Oh no, he is influencing our youth. A Dana 44 is a gateway .....Started lacing the ARB compressor’s wiring harness in the engine bay and through the firewall.
Also sold my old Dana 44 and Dana 30 today and helped a young man start his Jeep build!
Cool Chevy, BUT that's a 210 2dr. Wagon. NOT a Nomad.I entered Woodstock in this morning's Cruise-in. It's been way too hot here to do much else... the high today was 112.5
There was a really cool Nomad I wanted that has an awesome patina and turquoise interior

Yet another plug in adapter. This one taps power for the PA Amp from the Ham radio feed.

New PA amp to the far left. This thing is LOUD! (video coming soon!)

Previously installed PA horn - the CB radio barely drove it!

In hindsight, this was a stupid idea on my part. The CB radio with the PA feature was a negligible amount more than the one without. An "Amazon Warehouse" 50 watt rated PA horn was $7.10. So I figured, "Why not?". The CB radio outputs 7 watts to the PA - pretty much useless. So I add a 50 watt amp, a speaker level to line level adapter, some wiring and connectors, some customization on the line level adapter, and far more time than this silly project was worth. How much am I *really* going to use this? Thank Goddess the whole mess only cost me about $30 extra. It makes the rear fog lite project I did awhile back look downright sensible! But it *is* nice and loud! This reminds me of my first TJ! I had a PA system on it and it was also red... needless to say it was a LOT of fun in college.
This is surprising. I am sure you have experienced all the idiot drivers who move to Floriduh in Merritt Island. In Tampa it's a combination of northern state transplants, tourists and Latin American drivers. Add in the cell phone distraction and ultra aggressive driving, it's a mess. I sometimes feel like I am driving in a third world country. I do not really like other people all that much, so that doesn't help. I am sure every place does not care for the driving style of other places.I have yet to see drivers as bad as Californians. My main problem with Florida drivers is with those who are turning right - INTO A DEDICATED LANE - that STOP. For nothing. The lane doesn't exist "prior" to where they're turning onto it, yet they stop anyway. We have a bunch of this type of intersection here, and about 33% of the drivers will stop. I have my foot poised over the brake and my hand poised over the horn - and I'm not the only one. This is surprising.
