He means he posted someone elses ad for $1500 half doors. Here on the forum.
But ya. $1000 is crazy. But $1500 is ridiculous. I'm no economist. But when does inflation end?!
I may start a Jeep junkyard.
It doesn't matter when I bought them but they were for my second present TJ. $1500 is WAY too much for used half-doors. I paid about that total for brand-new half-doors for my previous TJ which included having them painted.

You could have asked the guy to clarify. Before going full blast on him. He is a good guy. Who posts here alot. His verbiage was just off. It confused me too. But once he clarified it made sense.

Having said that, I completely stand by my opinion. If anyone on an enthusiast forum that is supposedly here to help each other out is OK with and willing to screw someone over on a $1500 set of half doors “cuz capitalism” is a POS.
Not sure how communism was even brought up as it clearly was used in a totally wrong context, but no biggie.
I’m all for capitalism and selling something at a profit and advantageous margin for both buyer and seller. However when some who claims to be a “fellow jeeper” is looking to take advantage of the inexperienced (or potentially ignorant) that’s a totally different story.
I’ve already made my opinion known on those type people, if others disagree that’s fine, it’s why it’s an opinion and not a fact.
As far as flaming anyone, I’m old enough to know that gets you nowhere and it wasn’t what I tried to do as I also know how arguments on the internet go.
Okay, how about anti-capitalist? It's none of your business, and should be no concern of yours, what someone wants to ask for any insignificant item. No one needs factory half doors and no one is forced to pay the asking price. If you were commenting on someone price gouging water, food or fuel before or after a natural disaster you may have a point.
When I asked someone here WHEN they paid $500 for half doors the answer was "It does not matter". It matters a lot. So much is changing rapidly. My house is worth WAY WAY WAY more than I thought it would ever be just a year ago. If I were to sell my house should I ask what I think its worth or what the market thinks its worth? I had a quote to remove a tree for $300 but recently paid $400 to the same guy because his cost of labor, equipment, fuel, insurance etc etc had gone up since he had given me the initial quote. I'm not flaming him for raising his price. We are not, as @L J said, not selling food, water, fuel. If someone wants to pay more than I think doors, ammo, guns are worth I'm not going to feel bad about that. There have been so many AR-15 shortages I cant remember them all but a few years ago a family member aquaintance BEGGED me to sell him a basic AR I did not have much use for. He was thrilled to pay $1850 for it. I have no desire to buy goods in short supply and try to sell them for unreasonable profit but if I have something that is valuable and someone is willing to pay the price lets do it.

I’m not sure how listing a price (high, low, or in between) on a non-essential item is screwing anyone over. There’s nothing requiring the buying side to agree to $1 or $1500, no moral or physical imperative. This is an odd thing to use as an example of screwing anyone over.
Then so be it. My opinion differs than others. I’m ok with that. I still believe what I do. You do you.
