California Transmission Replacement in San Diego

Hi,
The automatic transmission in my 2002 TJ seems to be having some issues. Anyone in the San Diego area able to give a recommendation on a good transmission shop that knows Jeeps? I took it to one today and ended up leaving because they didn't even know how to check the level properly (tried to tell me it should be done in Park).

I live in San Diego and the ONLY transmission shop I'm aware of that really knows Jeep transmissions is Westminster Transmission in Westminster in Orange County. They're who I'd take it to, call them and ask for Joe. They are experts in Jeep transmissions, especially the 32RH like you have. And it sounds like you did verify the ATF level is up to the full line. Make sure it's not even slightly below the full line when it's in Neutral and the engine is running. I run mine about a half-quart over the full line.

I had a good experience with East County Transmission in Santee (10227 Prospect Ave b, Santee, CA). Mike the owner has two jeeps (TJ and JK) and has a small group of knowledgeable guys that work for him. Stop by and Mike will listen to your issues and take it for a test drive and provide a repair cost.
