Anyone running Baja Boss M/T tires?

I've got about 5k miles left on my current MTZ P3's so I'm starting to do a little research into my next set of tires.

I really like the look of the Baja Boss tread design. They appear to be less blocky and appear to have a tighter tread design than my MTZ's, so I'm assuming less road noise.

Anyone have any real world input on these tires, especially as a daily driver.

How many miles do you have on them, and how are they wearing.

I drive 100 miles round trip per day and was a little disappointed with the wear of the MTZ's which I'll only get about 28k out of.

I usually average about 40k out of a set of M/T's

I do have a set but I can’t speak much for them as a daily driver. I’ve got far more off-road miles than on road with them.

I’m very impressed off-road with them as they’ve broken in they’ve really improved. They were brand new at TJFEST and worked well there but they worked much better on the Rubicon.

As far as street, my work round trip is only about 3 miles. They aren’t any louder than my previous Dick Cepek Extreme Country’s. I have zero complaints with them. I like them a lot.


The Baja Bosses seem larger and look better than the Cepeks.

I have Goodyear MT/R’s on order and will be comparing them at some point.

As soon as I saw the Baja Boss tread pattern, I wondered how they compare to the MTR. If nothing else and for what's it's worth, it's a good looking tire.

It’d be interesting to see you run them though for your direct comparison to others you wheel with.

The 40’s I have on order are MTR’s so eventually I’ll be running both.

From what I gather, the Baja Boss is the same compound and sidewall as the Cooper stuff. If so, the MTR is still the winner, imo.

Having deleted my rear that is a consideration. But I’ll simmer down to read the thread too, it’s at least an interesting tire to me. Maybe a winter set

Ive got them on my JKU. Fantastic tire. Im running the D rated version in a 35 inch. I waited for the backorder (approx 2 months) because I refused to do an E rated tire, like my previous Toyo RT's. Those where quiet but, the Mickey's are much better in terms of ride and absolutely kill in the looks department. I highly recommend them. They're NOT quieter than the 33 inch Duratracs on my TJ but Im not concerned with a quiet ride in my Jeeps.

I know Jerry did last year. No one said an MTR can't tear. All I know is that I've been much harder on my MTRs than my old Coopers.

And we’re confident the Baja boss has the same exact sidewall? I’m yet to hear of any baja bosses getting torn or slit.

Yep, I slid my left rear tire sidewall down a jagged pointed piece of granite on an Arizona trail called Hard Ass and watched it happen in slow motion. I was shocked that it sliced wide open but there was a lot of force against a very sharp point.

It was my first puncture of the Kevlar reinforced sidewall in two sets of them. I thought they were bulletproof before that finally happened.
