What did you do to your TJ today?

After washing her this morning, I used one of those Meguire's Clay bar kits. I've never used a clay bar before, and wasn't sure how much work it would be or how much difference it would make.
Holy shit! It wasn't hard at all, and the results were incredible. It's still got 15 years of nicks and chips, but I am really impressed at the depth of the color that the clay bar brought back. Got rid of all the dingyness and stuff that I didn't even know was imbedded in the paint.

It's good you are learning about a clay bar. It certainly removes over spray and containments. You will feel a big difference but you really want to check for perfection place your hand into a zip lock bag or plastic and than wipe the finish. You will then actually feel if anything has been left on the finish. As a test re-clay a area and see the improvement.

That one is just fine and also does a good job. But you won't know of how good of job you do until you check it as I suggested. When done well you will not feel anything what so ever. You will also find the areas you did not work well.

I *can* provide. In costume too!

My late father in law didn't particularly approve of tattoos in general, although he wouldn't have known about the stigma associated with a "tramp stamp". I gave him an 8x10 picture of me in costume, 3/4 rear view in a white skirt. He understood immediately why I gave it to him - and he promptly put it on the mantle where he could see it, and it stayed there until his passing. The picture frame even had a big "Z" in rhinestones! Its now in his tomb with him.

Since my daily driver nissan murano got rear ended Thursday after leaving work, I parked it and am driving the Jeep again. Today I put the windows and full doors back on. 2 reasons first it's supposed to rain every day next week and second our gravel parking lot is a dust bowl when dry.
Yes it needs washed badly and will be before we leave for the Smoky mountain Jeep Invasion on the 26th.

That thing's longer than a whore's dream!
Haven’t measured it but the wings alone are about 7.5m so the trailer is probably 8.5 or more.

Yes @5632 it's a 4L, though the trailer isn’t heavy (estimate about 550kg but we need to get it weighed). Gliders are big but light. And the trailer has brakes which handily squeak so you know they're working.

Replaced the Delphi fuel pump this afternoon on my first day of vacation with a warrantied replacement. im gonna buy a Bosch now that they are available again and toss the Delphi crap out, its been about a year and it was unreliable. had a fun time climbing the slopes with insufficient fuel supply passing through Denver CO.

coming from MI to CO I had a sudden random lack of acceleration almost like I hit the speed limiter trying to maintain the speed right when I got into Colorado from Nebraska but I wasn't sure If I observed it or I was just tired. nearing Denver again I had multiple stutters... crossing my fingers id make it another 200 some odd miles and up and over cottonwood pass.

first slope leaving Denver I had to pull over at a exit, stumbling like crap and no power to pull up hill (semi's were passing me) no matter what gear 75% throttle just to keep moving on the road felt like hitting speed limiter. let everything cool down for a while then continued on. everything seemed fine from there on but a persisting excessive cranking every after key cycling I figured something was wrong with the fuel pump.

borrowed a fuel pressure tester and watched the fuel pressure, 0psi after priming, fluctuating between 0-8psi when cranking eventually up to 49 psi and starting after cranking and cranking. then 0 psi immediately after shutting off the engine.

new pump, starts up immediately... now I feel a hell of alot more confident to get up into the mountains.

Its nice out here guys, but Californias messing up the views as it is very hazy and you cant really see the mountains anywhere.

As noted elsewhere, got the rear shocks off, with only 2 of the 4 bolts busted. Horrid looking, OEMs.

You and I tackled the same job at the same time.. After reading so many horror stories I took time to soak the upper bolts in pb blaster a couple of times. Pleased to say all bolts successfully removed.
