Hey guys, I need some help. I realized too late (after taking the entire Jeep apart and put back together) that I need a MML since I have a 1inch body lift. I don't want to drill new holes for the radiator, so I was thinking about the M.O.R.E Bombproof mounts. Any other recommendations? Do I also have to lift the transmission mount? Thanks.

You don't drill the radiator to raise the fan shroud. Drill new mounting bolt holes 1'" lower than the factory bolt holes in the fan shroud. That will allow the fan shroud to be positioned 1" higher on the radiator so the shroud clears the fan.

Get the spacers that use the stock style mounts, they are much better than bombs in my opinion. There are plenty of variations available, it's just a spacer and the stock mount is something you really want to keep.

So all I need to do is reposition the shroud? Would anything else need to be repositioned?

Why are you putting in an MML? Normally the MML is to change the angle of the rear driveshaft so you want front up and back not changed much so you don't lift the rear mount. The MML isn't really designed to do anything with the body lift, I think it's just for driveline angle, maybe somebody else should comment on that?

Go with Brown dog mml with rubber bushings.

Or just raise the fan shroud by making new holes. Dont mess with the radiator.

I just thought I had to, but realized it's just the shroud I need to adjust.

Yep, nope.
Do you know if I would need a SYE on a 2 inch lift? Not too good with the whole driveshaft angle stuff.

Blaine is shaking his head no, I'm not going to summon the Wizard because he'd get angry and you know I'm right. Those things serve one purpose, to fix broken block mounts, otherwise they blow.
Not sure why.

I have a set and they seem fine.

Is it a durability thing?

The stock mounts generally provide much better noise isolation and allow the engine to buck and rock without shaking the Jeep around. I'm going way over the top, the set you have are fine. The others are just cheaper, more well behaved and easier to replace when the rubber wears out.

Something along the lines of:

BD1 - guys, just installed mine and feel engine shaking
MORE1- huh, mine are fine
MORE2- so are mine
BD2- did you use proper torque? it is in instructions
MORE2 - torque on MML?
MORE3 - WTF?
BD1 - no
BD2 - yah, follow instructions, they warn if too tight it will transfer vibes
MORE1- that is dumb
MORE3 - WTF?
MORE2 - yah that is weird
MORE4 - had mine for 7 decades, no vibes or issues
MORE5 - I dropped a bomb on mine, seems good
MORE3 - WTF?
BLANE - WTF?!
MORE3 - Bro, i know right!
Fishtaco - have you guys used Mineral Whale Poop 25w73 oil in your engine? Some Aussie tech recommended it.
MORE6 - i had BD and my Dana 35 exploded over night, Now i have MORE and no problemo

Well... feels good for me. No vibes at all.

So unless it is a durability thing.... as of now, i would rec BD again.

Experience over regurgitation.

Interesting. I'll keep an ear out.

But my feedback so far is all positive.
