Nothing crazy or exciting-
I got some new ones for free. (Thank you lifetime warranty) They are Monroe OESpectrum. The factory paint job looked pretty bad. Thin and missed spots. The old ones got rusty in places due to poor paint job. Plus I want everything under my Jeep to be flat black.
So I removed the decals with a heat gun, wiped with mineral spirits, scuffed with green scuff pad, blew off with compressed air, wiped with mineral spirits again, two coats Rustoleum primer. Two coats Rustoleum flat black.
Wondering if anyone else has painted their shocks with more elaborate paint job or any interesting colors compared to flat black?
Hope this holds up better than it would have otherwise. Plan on doing the same for new trackbar, coil springs, bumpstop cups that are coming from FedEx today.
