Hi, finished the front and working on the rear…it’s clear that someone with no professional skill or knowledge rebuilt it. The carrier bearing caps were backwards. It has koyo bearings and races and the carrier shims were all on one side…..they consisted of 2 LARGE thick shims that are beveled...

Mine had bad pitting and clearly ate themselves up, someone must have gotten into water and never changed the fluid. When the fluid did get changed it was too late, they just slapped it together and sold it to me.

Update , set up bearings made and multiple assembly completed….Ended up using the original measurements from the factory and no pinion shim. Sitting at 9 thousands backlash now. I kind of like the wear pattern. I would like 8000s or seven thousands but I gotta get it out of garage and fix...
