Experience with Rock Krawler 2 inch Lift Kit

Personally, I wouldn't use them again. They were far more trouble than I expected and I ended up having to buy all the components that their kit didn't include. When i thought I was saving money, it ended up costing me that I expected. Additionally, I didn't initially notice it, but they had...

Help needed - airbag light on and an open wiring connection after removing and replacing dash

You are correct. The connector under the steering wheel that plugged into the clock spring needed to be re-seated.

Help needed - airbag light on and an open wiring connection after removing and replacing dash

Well good news and bad news. The good news is that I found the wiring harness click for the empty wiring socket. It was tucked up under the back of the glove box, so whatever it is for is not connected. Secondly, I disconnected all of the wiring harness clips that plug into the steering wheel...

Help needed - airbag light on and an open wiring connection after removing and replacing dash

I had the dash and steering wheel removed to replace both the heater and evaporator cores. I have everything back together and have two issues 1) The airbag light on the dash is on. I was very careful not to turn the steering wheel when it was removed and the horn works even when turning the...

Replaced heater and evaporator cores (can't reconnect)

I got it. It took a bit of wiggling but it snapped in place finally!

Replaced heater and evaporator cores (can't reconnect)

This week the project de jour for the Tj has been to removed the dash, steering wheel, and heater box to replace the leaking heater core and "while I"m at it" replace the evaporator core, blower motor, vacuum lines, and resistor pack. I have everything inside the Jeep all buttoned up and under...

TJ Rubicon vs. TJ Sport or X?

I purchased the new hardtop from a company called Camper King www.camperkingusa.com nice fitting top, not OEM but it was priced the lower than local 20 year old skanky looking used tops, so I bit the bullet and bought one. The rear bumper is from Tuff Stuff Overland, PM me for more info and...

SOLD M.O.R.E. ARB compressor mounting bracket for TJ / LJ

I purchased the Mountain Off Road Enterprises bracket to mount my ARB twin compressor in my TJ and after the bracket arrived, I changed my mind and mounted the ARB unit in my JL instead. As a result, I have a brand new, never used or installed M.O.R.E. bracket for sale. It costs $110, but I am...

TJ Rubicon vs. TJ Sport or X?

Thanks for asking. I completely had forgotten about this thread. I ended up purchasing a bone stock 2003 Wrangler X. Since purchasing it, I have nearly updated everything on this Jeep since purchasing it. The list is amazingly long, but here goes - valve cover, valve cover gasket, rear main...

    Parasitic battery drain

I hope so, but as i said I am still suspicious of this battery, so we will see if it holds the charge.

    Parasitic battery drain

I now have a fully charged battery by letting the tender stay on it over 24 hours. The Jeep has now started two days in a row with no difficult. The dash gauge is reading 14 volt charge, but I am still suspicious of the battery, despite having a date of June 2018 on it. I will continue to...

    Parasitic battery drain

I may be losing my mind. Tonight after dinner I went out the to TJ, disconnected the ground cable from the battery and connected my amp meter to both the battery terminal and the cable using alligator clips. Previously, I had just be touching the leads to the cable and the battery...

    Parasitic battery drain

That's actually funny because I disconnected the under hood light last year when I did all my engine work and never reconnected it. The testing you mentioned is my next step, although disconnecting the instrument cluster will be final item on my test list. And yes, doors are closed for the test.

    Parasitic battery drain

That fuse is the Accessories fuse, after pulling it just now and inspecting the Jeep when running, the radio still works, the fan still works, the headlights and taillights all work. The only things on that 10 amp fuse that didn't work are the two dome lights on the speaker bar and the courtesy...

    Parasitic battery drain

Went back out to investigate further. Here is a pic of the meter reading when set on 20 amps. When I initially touch the leads to the negative battery terminal and the ground wire for the battery, I get an initial reading of .30 which then settles down to .06 in a second or two. I was able...
