No, that was engine only. Labor was expected to be another 11-13 hours at 85 an hour. He said book was 15 hours but he thought he could do it faster and would only charge actual time.

So, fragged out piston on the engine and grooved up the cylinders, so, new engine time. Wish I could do more than replacing the 4cyl with another 4cyl, but mechanic says changing to 6 is going to cost a lot more with the computer and wiring and transmission etc., etc. So, 2001 needs a new...

So that door sensor is the only thing that fuse protects?

Are the door momentary switches constant open? I am going to turn the dang things off and figured I could just wire nut the wres together behind the speaker to close the circuit. Will that work?

Sometime recently I read something about a quick install emergency top that I could keep behind my seat during the summer and pop it on quickly in case of rain. I am looking for something that will not require an additional header or front piece. Any recommendations?

Ok, now on the the rear shocks!! AND. FOund that annoying popping sound I think. Rear drop link was loose. So, impact wrench to remove rear shocks?

OK, I have 12.5 tires with what I think are the stock plastic fender flares on 01 tj. I am thinking about going to a wider size to keep from slinging up quite so much on the sides. What size do I need to use to cover the tire without being too wide. Is 7" the right size? Road and mud use...

Update on what I have been doing. Over the Christmas break I was able to replace that drag link end which was showing wear. I also found the left rear sway bar link and the front right sway bar link to be loose. Those two items by themselves made huge difference in the handling of the jeep...
