    Build plan sanity check

Glad to see you're making progress on the build! Shotgunning some well-intended thoughts on things I wish I knew when I was in your phase of the build. Suggestions: Consider purchasing or borrowing a chalk snap line and a multi-point laser level (horizontal/vertical with top/bottom dot laser)...

Time, cost, or effort. Pick 2. I understand you are motivated to accelerate your build (prioritizing time). In that case I'd suggest giving extra consideration to @TheBoogieman recommendation to have mrblaine work on it. In my case I prioritized cost savings (AKA "Daddy Allowance"), and with...

    Build plan sanity check

Speaking as someone who daily drives their LJ on 42's (and loving every minute of it), Vtx531 is correct. Understanding the tradeoffs associated with a build goes a long way to managing one's expectations.

x2 for bringing it to Nebraska! 🙂 To help with estimating height change due to axle tube diameters: my Dana 60 front axle tube diameter is 3.75 inches, Sterling 10.5 rear is 3.5 inches. As for the rear axle interference, my Sterling 10.5 with stock diff cover never touched the gas tank. That...

    Utah TJ Fest 2022

LONGJP2 is 100% right. The slickrock is anything but "slick," it's like driving on coarse sandpaper. To LONGJP2's point, I ran many of the Moab trails before adding lockers and always made it through while having an awesome time with other Jeepers!

    Utah TJ Fest 2022

Last year Dino's group had a TJ on 30's and everyone had a blast. I agree with Tob, lockers would be the best investment.

    Amp help

The above advice is solid: check your grounds. In the case that comes up empty, check if any of your RCA cords are running next to a wire carrying power (e.g., the power cable running to the amplifier). In the past this was what caused my alternator whine, and moving the RCA cables away from...

    Nebraska TORC Jeep Show

I'm planning on coming. I hope TORC can continue their shows. The JeepHer group held their first meet-up last Saturday in a parking area in Council Bluffs and it seemed to work for them.

    Wiring cleanup

I've been happy with these terminal blocks for my Jeep's electronics. I use it for everything from 10 to 1/0 gauge as long as you use the correct ring terminals. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076C46DP1/?tag=wranglerorg-20 I'd also suggest adding these colored label zip ties along the length of...

What parts do I need for SYE conversion?

Could the leaking seal at the bottom of the transmission be due to removing the transfer case during the SYE install? It's possible to install the SYE without removing the transfer case (I did this and haven't observed any leaks).

What parts do I need for SYE conversion?

Just playing devil's advocate here: is there anything else that may be causing these vibrations? Some people will remove one of the driveshafts to help eliminate variables. As for the SYE install, it looks like you've already done a lot of research. I also used Advance Adapters and found...

California Rubicon Trail Jamboree Aug 2021

Are any TJ Forum members going to the Rubicon Trail Jeep Jamboree in August 2021? Interested if there are any opportunities to caravan to the Trail and/or wheel in the same group.
