Wrangler TJ reverse gear shifting problems with grinding noise

He mentioned in the first post about how he didn't reinstall the skid plate. The transmission shifter is probably hitting the tub, not allowing full engagement. @Jerry Bransford

    White letters out or black?

    Why not red letters out?

How big of a headache is replacing blown head gasket?

Also make sure you can get ahold of a DEEP 12 point, ½" socket for the head bolts. I had one hell of a time finding one deep enough.

    Clutch fork came off

@Boinked I did pull the slave cylinder out and I was able to hold the rod with one hand while pushing the pedal with the other and the motion was smooth and there was little resistance. The rod on the slave cylinder did have some movement, like a wobble extension.

    Clutch fork came off

@Boinked That makes sense now that you mention it, but there wasn't any noise or anything when it happened.

    Clutch fork came off

Last night I was driving home and when I went to downshift, my clutch pedal went straight to the floor and did nothing. I managed to limp home by starting it in gear twice. This morning I pulled the slave cylinder off and the clutch fork is very loose and can move without resistance in every...

Where did you mount your extinguisher?

My tack welds actually broke on my Jerry mount. All but 1 broke from me resting my foot on one of the clips while sitting in the seat.

    Is this a tummy tuck?

That is, without a doubt, a tummy tuck.

    1998 4.0 Persistent Misfire

I think I'm going to start with a Mopar coil as the current one is an unknown brand. I have a feeling the PO's had no regard for OEM parts as I just replaced an ACDelco fan clutch.

    1998 4.0 Persistent Misfire

I'm about at my wits end here. 1998 4.0 manual trans, ~180k miles. The other day I cold started it to go to work and it was misfiring on multiple cylinders, and stumbling pretty bad. It's misfired on #2 before, but it clears up within 10 seconds of running. I let it run for a few minutes just to...

    Prairie City SVRA

@afmoto I appreciate the criticism. I did try to put it on every time but a couple of times it was locked up. And you do sound like my dad 😂

@alittleoff The camera is just an old Gopro so no zoom there lol. If I wanted a great video I would've used my phone. 4K @ 60FPS is pretty great.

    Prairie City SVRA

@Alex01 I bet that would make a world of difference, my main issue was that I couldn't hold a line due to the dust on the rocks. Also that I was terrified of breaking something 90 mins from home 😂

    Prairie City SVRA

I did not. I was still impressed by how much they did flex at ~28psi though. I'm leaving for college in a month so I can't spend any money on the Jeep for any reason.
