    Bad battery?

06, 4.0 auto trans. My battery is somewhere in the ballpark of a year old. I had surgery in October, any I left it sit for a month. When I went to drive it, battery was dead. Took it to auto zone, they said it was totally dead and would need to be charged before they could test it. After an...

No start, multimeter showing battery at 14.X volts

So it was the battery. Took it and had it load tested. The thing that kind of threw me through a loop was the multimeter reading. I imagine it wouldn't have been confusing at all had it been accurate.

No start, multimeter showing battery at 14.X volts

@Noslo65 I have AAA, so was considering calling them to test the battery. Otherwise I'm not sure how to test it myself outside if what I already did (saw a drop in v when my gf tried to start it). @g.hayduke I actually replaced my headlights with LEDs, so didn't think the headlight thing would...

No start, multimeter showing battery at 14.X volts

@Jerry Bransford it was showing 14 while the engine was not running, which is why I thought it was weird. But someone else suffering it might have just been the cheap multimeter I was using. In any case I'll hit them with a wire brush and see if that helps. @pagrey yeah I wasn't sure if it was...

No start, multimeter showing battery at 14.X volts

@pagrey the cables were pretty heavy duty, I'm a paramedic and we used the cables we use on the rigs. My analog did look to be around 12ish, but my understanding is the difference between full and dead is less than 1 (which I wouldn't be able to see well enough). I did have my gf come out and...

No start, multimeter showing battery at 14.X volts

2006 daily driver. The last couple of days I've had some rough starts in the morning going to work no issue coming home though. Today was the coldest day we've had in a bit and I got the rapid clicking, but no start. I figured it was from not driving much (I'm probably less than a mile away...

How can I troubleshoot overheating at idle?

@Jerry Bransford I'll definitely keep an eye on it. I used the list in the post and bought everything from the links (so it should be the right cap). Looks like mainly the problem was that the tension clamp hit the end of it's life and looked more like C. @Chris Thanks for the help, appreciate...

How can I troubleshoot overheating at idle?

@Chris So it took about 1/3 of a gallon. I still had some Zerex 50/50 on hand. Looks like I found where it's been leaking. The tension clamp on the overflow tank basically disintegrated. Didn't have any leaks when I filled up the radiator. Then went to top off the tank and then noticed the...

How can I troubleshoot overheating at idle?

@Chris I can throw my OBD on and idle it, would that be the better way to check the actual temp? Not really sure how to do that. @CodaMan I did have some resistance while spinning it right after I shut it off (when the CG light came on). It's probably been shut down for about an hour now...

How can I troubleshoot overheating at idle?

2006 TJ, Last summer I completely redid the cooling system per the guide here (new hoses, radiator, water pump, fan clutch, T stat and housing), with no cheapo knockoffs. I'd had no issues, and hadn't noticed any leaks. Today I'd driven home from work, and went back out to meet someone. While I...

    Snapped bolt on water pump

@super Yeah it was sticking out, and I was able to work it out with needle nose pliers. I did end up ripping the gasket (on the bolt stud) so I'm going to be needing a new one of those. Yeah I came back in and realized I looked at the wrong number, and they were supposed to be 22. I also put...

    Snapped bolt on water pump

Thanks, so oddly enough I don't actually have a leak anymore. The gasket I got was just whatever they had at advance auto, the mopar one that came with the pump was stuck to the surface (and I had to cut it off). I figured what the hell I was close to done so I just dumped about a gallon of...

    Snapped bolt on water pump

So I was trying to tackle the cooling system since I'm not driving it anyway right now. Well got the rad/water pump and all that changed out. Got everything back together and... was leaking like hell. So i took it all apart again thinking ok it's most likely cause I didn't have the gasket...

Lower control arm fake cam washer?

Oh it is seperate, I wasn't quite sure. Any suggestions on how to go about getting them apart? I pretty much had to cut it off that close with the way the bracket was bent. On the nut side there was a thick washer, and it was just a regular nut.
