    PCM Failure Diagnosis

Hello all. I wanted to gauge opinions. I had some issues a year ago where the jeep just wouldn't crank (turn key, nothing happened). I thought it was the starter, which I replaced but it continued happening. Then within the last few weeks my jeep started stalling randomly. It only happens after...

    No bus and randomly stalling

D Did you have the same symptoms as me? Stalling after running from a while, followed by a no bus signal, and then after waiting a while, starting back up?

    Nope. I did not.

Wheel alignment and creaking when turning

Just wanted to post an update (albeit late), that it really was pretty easy. I had a buddy help me out. I'm not sure it's perfect, but were meticulous and it seems pretty good! Also, I just ended up buying another tie rod end and throwing it on there. Thanks!

    No bus and randomly stalling

I'm having an issue about which I've read some other threads but I wanted to describe my symptoms and get someone's opinion. For reference, this is a 1999 Jeep Wrangler L6/4.0L. My jeep has been sitting for a few months in various states of disrepair while I did work on the front end. I took it...

Wheel alignment and creaking when turning

Hello all, I always find the advice this forum gives really helpful. I recently got to the business of replacing my ball joints as they were squealing very badly and audibly. I decided I'd go ahead and replace the steering linkage components, tie rods, and steering damper while I had the axles...

Advice on greasing TJ zerk fittings

Jerry, thanks. I don't doubt that, but what am I looking at then? It looks like there are 3 on the left wheel which I've shown in the attached picture labeled A, B, and C, I left the right angle attachment to test it (and also 3 on the right wheel). Then there are 3 more captured in numbers 3...

Advice on greasing TJ zerk fittings

So a question, I've counted what looks like more than 7 zerk fittings. Behind the red arrow (it's hidden behind the drag link) in the image there looks like another one (one on each front wheel that is) which looks impossible to get to. Am I missing something here? Thanks!

Advice on greasing TJ zerk fittings

I'm going to see if I can replace just the missing zerk for now, where I'll be diligent about cleaning as much as I can. But what about the other zerk fittings where I can't exactly "clean" them?

Advice on greasing TJ zerk fittings

Thanks! I do plan on replacing mostly everything on the front end, but in a month or two when get acces to a flat driveway (I live in an apartment complex right now). For now I just want peace of mind I’m mot destroying anything.

Advice on greasing TJ zerk fittings

Hi all. I was hoping to get some advice on greasing my TJ. I've seen some other threads, but I have some detailed questions those don't exactly cover. I bought a 1999 TJ roughly 6 months ago and have been doing all the work on it myself. I took it to a mechanic last week to have them inspect it...

Advice on coolant system and damage

For anyone coming across this, as a late update, it was just coolant on the belts. The jeep was totally fine.

Advice on coolant system and damage

Got it. Thanks. My fear was that the temp gauge wasn't good b/c w/o coolant, or enough coolant, my understanding is that the temp gauge can't read anything (since it's not submerged in the liquid). Further, I found (turn your speakers down if you click on this) this guy's video on youtube and...

Advice on coolant system and damage

Thanks for your reply! That makes me feel a lot better. I will get more distilled water and make sure to clean the belts as well as I can. As an aside, do you have any idea how long I would need to run the engine before it overheated and did serious damage? What would the symptoms of that be...

Advice on coolant system and damage

Okay, so let me start by saying I don't know much about fixing cars, but consider myself handy and want to learn more about fixing them, and having a 4x4 is fun. Two weeks ago I picked up a 5-speed 1999 Jeep Wrangler with a 4.0L 6 cylinder engine with the intent to work on it. The previous owner...
