In my humble opinion replacing the u-joints was the hardest part of my project along with geting the diff out of the housing. There are a bunch of youtube videos on u-joint replacement and I recommend watching them all. I used the big hammer process.

I had 4:10s installed about a year and a half ago and the installer guaranteed I would not have any leaks from the diffs. He was a former Mopar mechanic that opened up his own shop specializing in Jeeps. He did a mighty fine job of installing that diff cover, mighty fine!

Thank you so much for the offer but mrblaine was right on. After a good night's rest, a hearty breakfast, a handful of ibuprofen and following mrblaine's instructions — I tried to knock the diff cover into the passenger seat and on about blow number 25....success. Now to get the loaded diff...

Going to try that this morning since I'm fresh and the swelling has gone done in my hands. I may need a new diff cover before its all said and done!!

I have some that weigh 235 lbs and beyond but they're not as phsyically fit as I am and can't get under my jeep....I obviously need healthier and stronger friends....:D

I haven't tried heat, something about a tourch and all that oil waiting to dump out of the diff all over me and my garage floor makes me a little hesitant...but I am running out of options.

I've hit it as hard as I dare hold the end of the joint knife and I'm not a small fry (6'5" 230 lbs) and was pretty frustrated at the time!!! Plus see above about the conditon of my hands, not to mention my knee. Will you come hit it for me?? :)

Tried all 3 flavors....

I've attempted with a variaty of hammers, chisels, screw drivers, painter's tools, etc. I have managed to mash every finger on both hands and somehow hit myself in the knee. I barely can walk to the door and can't open it once I get there!!
