What did you do to your TJ today?

Replaced the control arm bushings on the front of the TJ. Stock ones had 180,000 miles on them. Still have to do the rear later on. Got all the parts for the TJ/ZJ tie rod conversion but still waiting on the adjustable track bar to show up. Hopefully it will be back on the road in a couple of days.

TJ has lots of body roll and wanders

Ok, here's the deal. Reset the toe in to 1/8th" and dropped the tire pressure to 26 psi front and rear. The TJ dives like a completely different vehicle. It doesn't wander/hunt on the road any more which actually improved the body roll. There must have been so much toe in the tires they were...

TJ has lots of body roll and wanders

I think I have found the wandering problem. Toe in was set almost 3/8” with 32” tires. Tie rods have never been adjusted on this Jeep, still had the lock washer on both sides of clamp. Couldn’t budge tie rod with a monkey wrench and cheater bar, my new best friend (again) is my trusty ole torch...

    Another lift kit conversation

I just installed the OME 2" heavy duty coils in the front of my 2000 TJ and the OME 2" coils in the rear. Bilstein 5100 shocks for the 2" lift. No TC drop, no vibrations. BFG 32x11.5x15 KM3 tires. I have a small amount of issue with wandering and slight body roll. I think the wandering is toe in...

TJ has lots of body roll and wanders

Thanks for the input Andy. I looked at the bushings when I was installing the springs. They look like typical 18 year old bushings, not really bad but have some substantial weather cracking. Wouldn't be a bad idea to put them on my "to do" list and change them out. I'm not taking the lift off...

Does anyone know what the correct toe in would be? I read somewhere that it should be 1/16th to 1/8th in at the front. But, I have also read somewhere that guys have up to 1/2" toe in, seems kind of excessive to me but what do I know!

I didn't change the pitman arm, but I will check to see. How much of a drop does a dropped pitman arm have?
