Piss & Moan Table

For the love of god, please learn just the most basic grammar. I understand it’s your phone in most cases that is capitalizing random words, but you as a human being need to pay attention and fix it, if not you’re just lazy.

@Chris, I liked your post because I wholeheartedly agree. However, capitalization, like punctuation, is not included within the rules of grammar. They are all three different things (grammar, capitalization, and punctuation)...

Did you know that they no longer teach students to put two spaces after the period at the end of a sentence? That's just wrong. The two spaces make it really easy to detect the oncoming end of a sentence while reading. I'm almost a life member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. They require members to pay dues, currently at $120 per year, for 40 years before they give you a life membership! But, I digress. I bring them up because I get a daily digest of forum postings (their forum is entirely more boring than yours ;)), and the forum actually changes a period-space-space to a period-question mark-question mark because it is currently considered bad to use two spaces. A bunch of us old farts couldn't figure out what the heck was happening, and somebody finally figured it out. Utterly stupid, but there is a silver lining - the old farts now know that when they see the double question marks, wisdom is being imparted! :)

Plymouth is 10 miles south of me on Highway 49, it’s the new wine country.
Crazy - I always thought the Hangtown motocross event was the name of the track. Didn't realize it was bigger than the track!

Are they still doing that event? It was at the fairgrounds directly next door to the "49er Trailer Village" RV park where we used to stay (a lot!). We didn't range much north of Plymouth though, we'd go south on 49 for the most part although we did get up to Placerville a time or two. Used to take 4 out of Angel's Camp down to Copperopolis on the way home.

The first race was at Murray's Ranch in Placerville, now they’re held at Prairie City OHV Park down by Folsom

IIRC that crap started back in the chat room days... Mostly by the self proclaimed HaCkErS!
Whatever. I'm an old skool hacker - back when it meant "programmer" NOT "criminal". However, COMPLETE CAPITALIZATION DOESN'T BOTHER ME IN THE SLIGHTEST, NOR DO I CONSIDER IT "SHOUTING" AS THE COMPUTERS I GREW UP WITH DIDN'T EVEN *HAVE* LOWER CASE...

Turnabout’s fair play, they say. I identify as a billionaire, so I think I‘ll break into Tim Cook’s home and squat. When he calls the police, I’ll simply tell them that I’m a billionaire, but I lack billions of dollars, so in order to correct that, I need Mr. Cook’s assets. I’m sure he’ll understand, right?

BTW, if I pull this off, you’re all invited to the “Hey, everyone, I’m a billionaire” Bash. Free low-miles TJs and LJs for all attendees!

The //e is relatively new - I didn't know they were available with cassette. The old ][+ was certainly. I started with the model 1 TRS-80, cassette at first, then disk. Also built an IMSAI 8080 from scratch, had dual 8 inch floppies, the whole works. I stupidly got rid of it, but now I have another one!

I remember the "Trash 80s", at least that's what we called them in school when we got them (early 80s). Good old "Tandy Radio Shack". We ended up with Commodore V-20 for our first home computer, followed quickly by the 64 model... I never did get too interested in them but my brother moved on to the 128. I still remember writing the Bouncing ball and hot air balloon programs... Wooohoo!!
