MCE Fender Discussion

Don't cut. Get the full set and sell the take-offs to recoup some of the cost. Sometimes it's easier to pay for convenience.

The fronts will never fit tight against the body behind the wheel.

I think it’s happening, if I decide to get the fenders.
It will provide some contrast for your darker color TJ. I think it will be subtle but also bold. I look forward to it.

Yup you have to cut. No way around it. If you don’t want to cut just keep your current flares. Most of the time these get installed after there has been damage or if there is a rust issue of some kind.

Seriously considering buying some MCE fenders from quadratec while they have them on sale. Question is do I just buy the front and cut my stock rears to match? Or should I just go for the full MCE fender set?

Fronts only are $180
Rears only are $210
Full set is $360

So if I only got the fronts and ended up not liking my cut stock rears I'd be paying $30 more and be out the price I could have sold my stock flares for. Post some pictures of the full set if you've got them and post some of the front MCE flares and stock rears! I'm also thinking about paint matching them to my Sahara, so if you've done that post your pictures too! Thanks in advance!View attachment 328264
Your Jeep looks really good as it is. Not sure I could change the look if I were you!

That would really piss me off every time I looked at it. No way to drill the flare and grab one of the OE rivnuts?
No. You’ll get over it. I never notice. I have ww2ww sliders and I trimmed 3/16” off the edge to account for the slider. I’ve seen others add a bead of black silicone to cover the gap. I can take a pic of mine later if you want. Or just look @DrDmoney pic a couple posts above

It's not that bad honestly. I trimmed the front my slider due to previous metal fenders that were on there when I bought the jeep. You could trim the flare to fit around the slider though. Here is a pic of my fender now. You can't really see daylight from the top down but you can looking up from underneath the flare/inner fender.

The rear flares I just drilled through the original flare holes in the tub from the back side. Then just used the original flare hardware to mount them rather than the provided self tappers.
