Thought I'd share this cool LJ that a small town about a hour north of us brought in to help with a wildfire that was about a 30 minutes north of were we live last week. Didn't even know they had it.(I was not there to take these pics )
You cant road it to a fire and once ya get there what you gonna do with it, park it and look cool? For the cost of the tJ and the tracks you'd be better off with a small dozer, at least you could do some work with it.
Our search and rescue folks use tracks like that in the snow. I've seen Ford F350s bombing down a snowmobile trail because the tracks "float" the rig on the powder. Also seen them used in wet marshy areas to cross big mud bogs and the like. Never seen how they work on a hill or soft powdery dirt.
