What did you do to your TJ today?

There is this panel that covers the fan resistor I am replacing and it keeps falling down :mad: it has these slots that fit into something that holds it in place. It's to the right of the passengers foot well . I just thought of something , I will take my phone and see if I can take a picture of up under there as it is hard for me to see anything. Does anyone know what the trick is to get that thing to stay up there ?

Okay I watched a video on youtube and it's held in with 4 little bolts and I must have just pushed it off the front two bolts and it fell off.
It is not going to be fun getting to those bolts and put it back on ..... I'm not a contortionist . Who the hell was it that told me " Oh Jeeps are so easy to work on " well maybe a lot of things but not everything !!!

One of the 5-760x ujoints I ordered arrived with only 3 snap rings. Amazon returns are a thing of beauty,

Are you rebuilding your rear drive shaft ? I thought I had the same problem at first missing one but I didn't think that the u-joint that attaches to the yoke on the rear axle is held on by two straps so you only need two snap rings on that one !

I was afraid of that , and they are inside ones. if you are careful do you think you could salvage one of the old ones and use it ..... not the most desirable thing I know !

Probably, but I'm in no hurry. I don't plan to do the work for another couple of weeks. The return and reorder is quick and relatively painless. Plus I should get what I paid for.
