What did you do to your TJ today?

Looking to add a light for the glovebox.
Is there a pin-type switch that some models used, or is this one of the many “gonna have to make it myself” situations?

My Charger didn’t have a switch, but the harness was there because it was the same as the 300, which had a light.
For that I was able to just buy the factory part, cut the hole and plug it in.

I suspect I’ll need to make this myself but figured I would ask to see what others have done.

Show me your solutions.

Finished up the front bumper facelift… more like a blast of Botox than an actual facelift, but it’s amazing what a fresh coat of texture paint will do to these stock bumpers.
I used vinyl/fabric paint on the bumperettes & the filler.

Came out nice given the low cost/effort factor.

I've not done a whole lot to my Jeep lately due to IRL stuff going on, but I built my own third brake light finally, just gotta connect it up sometime is all. Might spray-paint the green wire black so the wire colours all match up. This will be put in the lug holes on the spare tire.
I'd sell my OEM TBL but I doubt someone would want that hideous monstrosity.

Mine doesn't look pretty, but it should work, so who cares? lol

1997 + Cherokee (pictured below) with the same dash had a glove box light , find a pull-a-part and see what you need to scavenge to convert yours

The plunger and the light are all one piece and snap fits into a "D" shaped hole in that metal support. You may have to make the hole through the plastic and metal backer piece. I don't think it's there on the TJ , take some measurements while you are taking the parts. Hope this helps , running some power to it shouldn't be much trouble. Hint: I have read they are not in all of them , may have been a part of some add on lighting package.

“Yes, Officer… I just need to forage about in this pitch black glovebox to find my registration.
The first thing I’ll pull out is just going to be a Mag-Lite, it’s not a weapon, I swear…”
😬

Well just move out here , I would have to be chasing women with baby buggies down the side walk to get pulled over . Damn it Will that's the second time this week , better not be a third !

New exhaust valves lapped. The intake valves all looked good so I’m reusing them after getting them lapped and checking the seats. Gave the head a bath in the kitchen sink to make sure all the grit and grime were out of all the holes. I cleaned up the springs and retainers and assembled all the valves into the head and got it ready to go back on the block whenever it’s done.

My wife would kill me, revive me, and kill me again if I did that in the kitchen sink.

Somebody did a thread on here a few years ago with how to fix a small LED light to the inside of your glovebox….by all accounts lasted well

Screw City Jeep 815, a Jeep club in Northern Illinois held a ‘Jeep Freeze’, a fund raiser for a local non-profit which was an opportunity for you to pull your doors, drop a top and decorate a Jeep then ride through town. 100 of us took the plunge, collected around $2,500! Temperature yesterday was in the low 20’s!

Installed front and rear Detroit Truetrac, Currie currectlynx, front and rear adjustable control arms, front track bar, change front wheel bearings, and axle u-joints and finished off with a regear to 4.56. Think I’m done for a while.

My wife just about took my head off testing the mustard coming out to see if it was watery in the sink. I did it in the drain part not the sink, no way I'm staining her sink... well okay then , better be glad you didn't get it on the sink.

Still got my 815 number but I said ADIOS to that stupid weather a few years ago. Where was this? Looks like Rockford.
