One 97-02 Bosch fuel pump assembly left (update: probably not a Bosch)

D...all of the above.

Wish I could just buy a part and trust it was going to be that part, going to last as long as the original and not be a flaming pile of sh!t.

I don't mind doing my own work. I get pissed off doing it four times and spending money on crap parts.

X2, I'll never forget how pissed I was after a Spectre fuel pump failed at 13 months... 1 month after its warranty expired.

I just replaced a VVT oil cam sensor and camshaft position sensor in my Scion. I ordered "cheaper" parts in case it didn't fix my misfire issue. Parts showed up the other day with Toyota labels and 1/4 of the price of everyone else. Installed them and all is well. I think Bestop "disproved" the forum "you get what you pay for BS".

I've only had two issues on eBay and I've been buying/selling there since 2005. Both times eBay made it right. I'll take eBay over Amazon any day.

For those of you who bought one of these please let us know how they are. I passed on this deal last week when I was posting y’all on what to do with my pump issue on my 98. I ended up buying the Bosch 69316, a mopar 52100053 (rockauto subd for my ordered 4798301), and Delphi strainers and rebuilding the assembly per the how-to guide. So far so good.

I passed on the above deal because the price seemed too good even though seller confirmed it was authentic Mopar. I couldn’t forget this summer‘s eBay arrival of genuine timken wheel hubs, in timken boxes. The tip-off was poor quality appearance and China manufacturing. I checked with Timken and they manufacture this hub part number (513084) in South Korea not China. The merchant didn’t even want them back when they refunded me-not worth the shipping. Ordered a set from Rockauto and they seemed real and indeed stamped South Korea.

So please let us know. We need a good source especially if Bosch ramps back up on the assemblies as reported.
Good luck!

You are too paranoid about ebay..I could receive that fuel pump and message ebay saying it looked at me wrong and I would have the money back into my account the same day. Ebay is very buyer friendly.

I would think that if Bosch decided to restart manufacturing these assemblies they'd show up at Rock Auto, Summit and Quadratech and not some obscure ebay sellers page...that being said perhaps an enterprising fellow or fellerette figured out Bosch is making these and got em before the big stores.

All speculation... something tells me Bosch is over and out on making more of these.

I'm tempted to TIG up an aluminum cage with an Aeromotive pump...maybe a chunk of tube with some foam baffle.

Also would be cool to rig up an external clicky clack pump with the right quick disconnect fittings to go inline with the existing pump pre wired to the matching wiring plug...put it in a nylon pouch and sell it as an emergency get you home pump.

Other than the packaging or label, how will you know if it is an OEM pump?

I'd start with making sure that OEM sticker is on the pump assembly as pictured.

Then I'd pop off the regulator, unplug the sender and pump, unsnap the plastic top and pull out the pump. Mine clearly was labeled as Bosch.

You'll really know in 15 years or so...or a year...

I agree, it's an easy process, but I buy from 99.5 or above to minimize issues. Again, just a personal decision. I'll wait to hear if they're genuine Bosch before I pull the trigger

Looks like they still have more than 10 left. Get them while they last 😲

Their Google reviews are even worse. A lot are complaints about fuel pumps. I find it suspicious that they have found 69 original Mopar fuel pumps since the ad was placed in January. They were down to 1 and then found 10 more and then an additional 8. I have a feeling each time they get low they fire up the printer and make some more Mopar labels.
