Wildman's TJ is getting a face lift

I'll be honest and say I was getting burned out on the Jeep again. But seeing the axles done has helped a lot.
If I get everything setup on the rear that will be a big moral booster for me. Seeing it mostly done just means I'm that much closer.
Once I've got the driveshaft installed and isn't sitting on the air springs I can install the tires and run it for a bit to start breaking in the gears.
That won't be for a while longer since I'll have to have the garage door open. But it's a goal.

Keep at it Rick. Need to see if you can keep up in June.

I actually haven't done Fins and it will be my wife's first time, so.....

Fins was my first “Wife is with me in Moab” run.

She still tells this story. “First he took me on a 4, then a 6, then two 7’s, AND THEN A 9!!!!!”

🙂

Got’s ta ease ‘em in…

As you know, my wife is not a newbie when it comes to riding shotgun with me, and she has been in the jeep when it has been on its side at least 3 times. However, the exposure and possible fall to death is going to be a new thing for her.

Cliffhanger sounds like a good option.

If I can make it my only HAVE TO DO trail is Pritchett Canyon. That is my favorite trail. I'm just not wanting to get it down there and then have issues with something so I would like to have a couple of runs under my belt prior to hauling 18 hours to only breakdown. I'm sure I'm over thinking it but I have also gone down there right after doing mods to my Jeep only to have shit fail.

Will keep you all posted.

This is what happens when you rush to get stuff done and then take it out and shit breaks.

This was the second time I'd sliced a air spring.

Lucky for me there was another AiRock owner in the RV camp and he had a spare air spring. ORO shipped a replacement to the nice gentleman who gave me his spare. So I only missed out on one day of trails.

It's an addiction for him. We can have a intervention but it's probably going to cost him more...
We'd find parts he needs..

If he needs a pre '03 body there's one West of the mountains that just went up for sale... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: and it's even red!!!
I think it was on the TImber Tamers fb page or it could have been the PNW's page...

I really appreciate the support guys!

Late start today due to shitty night of sleep.

Got the air springs installed and put thread sealer on the air fittings prior to installing them. Hopefully this will be the last time they will come out for a long time.

After all the custom work done on these it'll be interesting to see how the Jeep performs.

Got the shocks installed next.

Before painting the axle I'd moved the lower mounts over a bit. Gives me more clearance to the fuel tank.

Next was the brake calipers. Ran into another issue. The brackets from Lugnut4x4 wouldn't clear the lower control arm bolts. So went back to the stock brackets for the emergency cables.

And how the brake flex line fits.

Just about done with the rear axle. Last thing to do is hook up the electric parking brake and route the cables.
