What did you do to your TJ today?

ordered it another NTK O2 sensor from RockAuto. I replaced all four last year when I had to replace the cats but now I'm getting a repeating P0158 bank 2 sensor 2 code
Somehow the Jeep found out about the new gun and it's feelings got hurt, I guess it doesn't know that I bought it new bumpers and didn't spend all the money on guns

Lovely.

I was going to remark on what appears to be a potentially interesting collection of shit in his garage...

Likely a lot of truth in that. I'll bet items going the opposite direction take a lot less time. Funny, that...

Yes quite a bit of shit but interesting shit all the same lol

Mine's downright embarrassing a the moment, I wouldn't worry...

I made it to the back wall just last weekend after many months of being unable to do so. I'll be honest with you, it felt like I summited Everest... :ROFLMAO:

Doesn’t bother me what people think of my garage you’re all good…
Mine goes from messy to clean and back again… I have some better pics of my garage on here somewhere

Addressed the exhaust that dropped Sunday on our test drive of the steering. Found out it wasn't just the weld on the exhaust that broke, but the rear hanger broke in half as well. I'm guessing when it went that's probably what caused the weld to break free. I slipped the back half of the exhaust into the front, slid the broken hanger bracket into place, and the angle it had been hanging at was absurd. No wonder it broke. When a PO had cut the tailpipe section out and went to a downturn tube, they left the bracket where it had been and it was a little far back to use on the now shorter pipe.

So, being something of a welder myself, I cobbled together this redneck offset bracket and then added a shiny new crappy weld to the front section of pipe to get me by until I replace the exhaust. I also found out I have no 3rd cat.

Welding under the Jeep when it's 95° is fun.

What are we looking at here...?

I'm slamming on the Jeep to get him drivable after 2 years in the garage. Have 12 days to get him through emissions or my registration is suspended. So been working evening on the final details. On schedule for him to drive this weekend to test out the major overhaul I've been rushing the past 2 months.

Today was wrapping up the engine bay with the new Genright aluminum flat fenders.

Creature comforts are not a priority so windshield washer tank will wait. I did un-loom the OEM wiring and pull the connector back to the firewall where I expect to install it.

Still need to install wiring loom holders on both sides.

I'm planning to do a Ford airtake into the cowl (once I clear emissions - just an OBD check) so I'm not spending money on a CAI. So I went country on the intake. ;)

Heads down on getting the work done so not doing great documenting in the build thread - just gotta hit that emissions check. [Insert middle finger to the Gov mandates/oversight here]

I like the air intake ingenuity.

Not 'planning' to drive in wet conditions as I get the emission codes set so I figure the open paper filter wouldn't be an issue. I picked up a bunch cheap a while back so I can throw on a new one if I get caught in the rain to/from work while setting the code.

Haven’t tried it yet. I plan on doing that soon. I’ve only owned the Jeep for about 4 weeks now. The PO says it’s fast. Ive started it and it was up to 80 psi in no time. He has a connection routed to the front and rear and a tank mounted underneath the Jeep. Overall it’s a nice setup. I have to think its faster then my portable I use in my JK.

Those portables always suck and the air pumps at gas stations are always busted. Since you have a tank you can run air tools. 🙂

I've been busting ass. Need to have the Gladiator ready for a two week trip in the rockies in August then need the TJ ready for a week wheeling trip in northern MN in September with only a week between the two and working 6 day weeks at work.

I know how much you folks love Gladiators, bahaha, so I must share. But this is my daily and tow rig for the TJ. Yesterday I put an iKamper on the rack and today I moved the spare into the bed area for rear ground clearance. I need to get some AEV HD coils now so I can still pull the TJ without dragging ass.

For the TJ today, I also got a few things done. A final coat of paint on the coil and steering box skid. Beveled the skid for tire clearance at full lock although I'm not sure that's going to be needed on 35s. My 37s used to rub.

I thought this might be a bad idea but it was fkn brilliant. Bottle jack drill press. Relocated the rearmost nutserts forward in the frame for the mid arm. Used mrblaine's bearing tool. Too easy. Trimmed the skid to fit. Booger welds galore :ROFLMAO:

Hit the frame with another coat of paint. Ground the knuckles down for the RCV boot clearance and hit them with paint. Didn't photograph that. But then I got the new ball joints/knuckles/RCVs/wheel bearings installed.

Got the spare and carrier remounted in its new position. Got about 1/8" clearance to the closed tailgate. Primed the base where the windshield hinges will go.

1. Replaced the battery

2. Got new windshield washer hoses because the other ones had completely fallen apart

3. Swapped out the factory headlights and chrome bezels for LED headlights and black bezels

4. Replaced the broken factory stereo with an Alpine stereo

I had a pretty productive night, especially for a school night.
