What are your favorite or recommended tire brands / models?

Thanks for everyone's input. The drag tires are compelling, and would keep things very interesting once the rain arrives.

@steelhd, I had a big laugh at the "cmon man". I can hear our illustrious leader saying it-I'm serious, not a joke.

I figured the "My TJ is stock, on 15" Gambler wheels" would be enough information on how I use my tires: daily driving, to get me to my favorite kayaking spot, and my favorite camping locations. All Terrain tires are my preference, though the drags and street racers could be entertaining.

Thanks for adding some context. If I was running a stock TJ on a mix of all-weather DD and light off road and wanted an AT type tire, I would really like to try Yokohama Geolandar X-AT, assuming you run a 31x10.5R15, because it's not available in either a 30x9.5 or a 235.

Although I offered a somewhat smartass Drag tire recommendation earlier. :p I use Michelin Defender LTX M/S on our Taco TRD pickup.
It's a great street based tire , that rides well , good traction in wet and dry , and increases the Gas mileage in the pickup by just over 1 MPG over the Load range E Duratracs that I run and love in tough mountain winter commuting. The only down side to the LTX is they are expensive , however i'm on my 3rd summer on them and at 65% tread left. I hope you find what works well for you.

General Grabber ATx on the TJ were excellent. Quiet, smooth and wore well.

Copper Discoverer AT3 4S on the Grand Cherokee for 6 months now and very pleased; smooth and quiet.

I have Mastercraft Courser CXT tires on both my F150 and my TJ. Really liking the tires. They look and perform like mud tires but ride smooth and quiet.

I have the Mastercraft Courser MXT in 33x12.50R15 and will be switching to a Falken Wildpeak A/T3W in the same size. With a soft top, the tire noise from the MXTs is horrible. They work well in the mud and look good but ugh ... the noise!
