Does this super 35 kit on eBay seem like a good deal?

Seems like a good deal for the e locker and 30 spline axles, although I'm not familiar with ten factory, do they make good stuff?

My preference would be RGA for the axles, but this kit is several hundred less. Is this deal too good to be true?

If I'm not mistaken you need 1541h axleshafts for a c-clip axle. Those just say "chromoly". That could be bad news if the bearing surface is too soft

I noticed that as well and I went to the sellers website where it actually describes the shafts as 1541h. I'd be curious to hear If anyone has ran this brand of axles and how they held up.

No, avoid that in your Dana 35. Those axle shafts are chromoly which is NOT suitable for the Dana 35's raceless outer bearings that will wear through the surface of a chromoly axle shaft.

This is what a chromoly shaft will eventually look like after much use in a Dana 35.

What you want are 30 spline shafts made with 1541H heat treatment which is what you get with a real Super 35 kit like from Revolution Gear. They hold up to the Dana 35's raceless outer bearings.

This is the Dana 35's type of bearing... it has no inner race so its roller bearings ride directly on the axle surface.

This outer bearing is like a chromoly shaft rides in, like in a Dana 44. Notice its inner race which is why chromoly shafts work fine in a Dana 44.

Thanks Jerry, as I've been researching what I want to do with my rear axle, I know the prevailing wisdom is that only 1541h shafts should be used in the Dana 35 for the reasons you stated above. But when I look these axles up on the Ten Factory website, the material description actually says 1541H, so I'm wondering if these axles might be a suitable alternative to RGA or not?

That one says 1541H so it seems fine, the info in the link first post said the shafts were chromoly which appears to have been in error. I sent the eBay seller a note to that effect.

Had a little panic attack for a second. I just bought the same kit direct from Alcantar's web site. I had to go check it!
I was a little irritated because they shipped the elocker seperate, but didn't bother to include that info anywhere. The axles were marked 1 of 1 and I got an email saying "order delivered"
Once I contacted them via email and phone, they provided shipping info for the locker.
The price on their website is $49 less at $1450

Yeah I noticed that price difference as well so if I buy I'll go direct thru their website. Seems like a good price since the axles are 1541h because everywhere I've looked recently the Eaton e locker is almost 1500 on it's own.

Yeah, I've really been putting it off because work is kicking my ass a little and the kids are so needy!
But that price and the expanding oil spot on the garage floor is spurring me to act.

I am getting to know the eternal struggle of managing the time commitments (and cost) of kids and owning/maintaining/wheeling a Jeep.

Honestly, I wouldn't trade time with the kids for 20 perfect Jeeps...when the number gets up to around 45 or so, it would start to be a tough choice!🤣😂😅
