What did you do to your TJ today?

I did see that thread. But thats for the pigtail. If possible i want to avoid another connection point. But if it has to be then so be it. Thank you for your time by the way

I'm sorry, I may not have understood what you were originally asking.

1. What year is your Jeep? (That's important because at some point, I believe they switched the male/female ends.)

2. You have fog lights you want to install. Is the light your picture one of these? Or is that picture just an old light you are removing and showing the plug for reference?

3. Your Jeep already has harness wiring for the fog lights, yes or no? (They'll be under the front fenders, near the bumper area.)

Otherwise, if you are using those lights, they should just plug in. Unless they are female and the vehicle harness is also female. (Or male to male.)

If that's the case, you can cut near the connector on the fog lights, and wire up new OEM-style connectors from Ballenger.

If you can get pictures looking directly into the front of both the light and vehicle connectors, that will help some as well.

started prepping to hardwire my GMRS

Alright yall I haven't been doing any updates but here's one
Threw the front end together, the motor ect.
Broke in the cam about a week ago been driving it ever since and I'm pretty happy 😁 it sounds like a V8 now
Had very minor issues such as a ground which threw my jeeps tranny into limp mode currently having a cel for the fuel purge and ambient air temp sensor but that's it thankfully

Only thing I'm not happy is that I Got pissed off and kicked my fender in and cracked my paint since I dented in my fender right where the shock Stud is at,pushed it back about 3 inches,I'm surprised how well my paint handled it,

As well the back side of my grill is slightly a different color due to the 1k clear I used, the stuff seems to be very brittle tools days/1 week for it to fully cure (however i used 2k clear for the rest of the grill and fenders and firewall) And for the firewall I have a few drips but No one Can't see em since they're under the brake booster 😉,back to the grill there's some chipping and yall will see it in the pics but oh well

Also I got a cel for the fuel purge valve....

This is how the bay looks like 😁
Gonna run a pod filter and direct the tube ontop of the battery as I decide on getting the THOR cowl Intake,I'd like the cooler IAT'S plus the intake noises I don't do water crossing so i wont really benefit but if anything I just like the free space on my fender without the stock box, I take pride the work I did to my alternator as well and I'd like to see it lol😆

Took the cover off since I was hearing noises so i tightend up the rockers arms and see if they were torqued to spec again cyl. 4 was a bit loose which solved my little valvetrain noise 😁
You can also see the damage on the fender here too 😅

And yess I'll be finishing up on looming the rest of the wiring harness for the lights and ect. I was lazy and also ran out of loom for those sections! I've just been enjoying dailying my jeep again 😁

Edit- Excuse my lack of knowledge on how to write stuff,im a dropout writing ain't my thing! I speak better than what I write 🤷🏽‍♂
Edit again- I also use emojis alot to depict on how I speak and the way I'd express myself when speaking

Where did you get the alternator? It looks OEM but with a cool finish. I think i want one.

I made it 😁....well painted it😆 got it from the junkyard for 40 bucks
if you go back on this thread you'll see when I took it apart it was all ugly and corroded, desottered the board and it allowed me to strip it down Completely to paint it and what not

It was from a on 04 or 06 dakota can't remember but some of them came with a 160 amp alt. Which is what this is but i really don't really need it but I mainly wanted something different since my stock one was cracked on the housing,I did all this since I was really just bored and decided what I could tinker around with lol😆

2. You have fog lights you want to install. Is the light your picture one of these? Or is that picture just an old light you are removing and showing the plug for reference? came with the factory fogs lights that the picture is of. Is that gooder English?

Not exactly all today, but series of mods finally finished up. Tie-rod flip from Blaine, raised swaybar brackets and SwayLoc installed. Short links on the SwayLoc since I'm currently running on stock suspension + 3/4" coil spacer up front. Passenger side link tilts more than the driver side, but the arm itself does stick out further on that side. I'm not sure if this is an issue or not, but I did some quick flexing in the shop with the floor jack and nothing seemed to be binding. No apparent issues on the quick test drive I did either.

You could possibly fix the issue with some misalignment spacers since you got heims ? Or maybe your axle is out of alignment too cause it looks the axle is shifted by seeing the springs so i could be trippin or cause of wide angle lens....or the track bar just needs to be adjusted ? Or maybe the fit-up when welding those brackets got shifted some which can happen cause it has happened to me😅but in different applications !

I don't know ? I got more questions in mind but i can just hear @sunnysideup_lj saying "Ever heard of Giving a mouse a cookie" 🤣And to that i'll say yes....always
Edit- i can't friggin read im sure its that lift thats probably throwing off the suspension, Also no bumpsteer with the TRE's being flipped ?.....

Probably is some iphone camera fuckery going on.

Brackets were clamped inline with the stock brackets while welding. And looked to be right where I put them when I was done. Or maybe I fucked up how I clamped them together, lol

Only a 3/4" spacer, but I suppose that would still shift the axle a little. No issues with the tie-rod flip, it's only the driver side that gets flipped.

But yeah, on down the road when I get to installing an actual suspension lift I will see how things are and just use misalignment spacers if need be.

Gotcha, Yeah sometimes when im working with some pieces id use some vice grip pliers and ect. and the metal would deflect some, not saying that happened to ya since i didnt to the work and have no idea if that happened or not but hey ya never know
I wanted to ask whats the reason for flipping just the drivers side ? Never seen that done myself and id like to know :D

As well how is the handling with that front sway bar ? Id like to run it myself one day since i'd like the stiffer rate for the street but still have the soft rate to have some stability when crawling cause disconnecting my swaybar ain't really for me especially since my ranchos are a bit soft for my taste, ive driven some rigs with nice adjustables and the valving is spot on even without the swaybar!

Flipping allows for the tie-rod to be raised up further to keep it out of harms way. I don't have a before and after photo, but if you do some searching around here on the forum you'll should find some good info.

I've only driven mine on the street on for a quick 2-3mile loop around my house. It felt like things were just "tighter" but I'll need to get some more drive time on it. Not sure when I'll actually seen any legit offroad time, so I can't comment on that yet. This build has been years in the making and it's still very much in the making part, lol. I've just been trying to knock out what I can with minimal down time. But I'm getting very close to suspension, gears/lockers, and SYE/driveshafts being next inline.

Edit: I really wanted a Savvy front bumper, rocker and corner armor to be my next mods. But outlook is still not looking very good on that. Glad I got the underarmor & GTS while I could.

Gotcha, seems like something i wanna do as far as the TRE flip
And thats good to know that the swaybar did "tighten" things up for say which is what i want

Me too i still want that damn bumper after waiting for an year and im honestly i'm pissed off that i didn't get that tummy tuck cause i need/wanted that skid but i guess a cam and headswap and many other things was more important lol 😆 I was hairs away from getting it but if i would've eaten ramen for a week i woulda been straight. To make that even worse i was about to buy but the new website has nothing after finding out a few days ago....i swear Its always when i have the money for something and when im about to buy....WHAM it is either out of stock, the price went up substantially and in this case they don't even make the damn thing/s
I really hope Savvy didn't just stop making that setup since last time i checked they had like 6-8 in stock and im hoping to god they're just figuring out/ or waiting to post the rest of the stuff they make. I am willing to buy after i recoup my money that was meant for the skid, but that skid money has been spent🙃
