What did you do to your TJ today?

I am looking at making a similar storage area, but probably only about 6“ tall. Did you just run a couple of bolts from the fender well into the cab to secure it? The 6” will give me some secure storage and I plan on buying some plastic bins. I thought about doing built in drawers but then figured why over complicate it. Plastic storage bins will work just fine.
Mine is not secured (Shhhh ;) ) as I'm always taking it in and out but yes you could do that with bolts.
I used plastic bins as they are cheap and light...plus I have 4 different bins prepacked depending on what Im doing... (cooking , shopping, beach ,odds and sods) so I just swap them out depending on the day. Very quick and easy. (Ive added some early pics)
I even have a cut out for a small Jerry can...if I need it.

I was thinking the two items circled was a bolt or something through the fender. Thanks for the info on the bins. Basically easy and simple and can swap around as needed. Just pull them out and get what I need. Simpler than drawers and more cost effective. I have a LJ so even at 6” high will be able to keep a few things in the Jeep, tire inflator, battery jumper etc. and have some “security“.

Ahh I see what you mean .. one is the bolt for the tie down and the other is the end of the rear seatbelt… need them in there as I sometimes need the rear seat back in

THis is my first foray into this sort of thing. I took electronics in college but it was mainly focused on the quantum side of semiconductors, so I didn't learn much useful stuff. And I haven't written anything resembling C++ since college either...python not needing semicolons bites me just about every time. Obviously I don't java, either.
I never understood the popularity of the ALGOL descendant languages' syntax. I respect their power and flexibility, just think their syntax could be better - the trailing semicolons drive me nuts!. I was a machine code/assembly guy, with a bit of Pascal (another ALGOL descendant with trailing semicolons) thrown in. But I never could grok OOP.

You, ahhhh, do know those actually are Zorba’s feet, right?

And after reading his reply you can tell he is a belly dancing Klingon too!!

Started the weekend with a trail fix. Replaced the TPS to clear a Check Engine Light code before heading into the woods. Despite going very slowly and exercising great caution, the plastic clip was just too brittle and broke. Zip ties to the rescue.

Hit the road and after two hours of driving the code cleared itself. Did Walking Stick Road just south of Highlands, NC. Then camped at Earl's Ford east of Clayton, GA. Had a pit bull walk up to our camp. Fortunately she had a collar with the owner's number on it. Turns out she had been missing four days. Poor girl was starving.

Drove over to Cooper's Creek area and drove Duncan's Ridge.

Then camped Sunday night at Mulkey Gap.

It started to sleet a little bit as we packed up camp Monday morning.
We found two more cemeteries this weekend.

Coopers Creek and Mulky Gap are two of my favorite NGA spots.

Looks like you need to clean out that engine bay.

Also, looks like Private Samual J. McCall was 59 years old. Seems old to be fighting in a war at that time. I love finding old cemeteries in the woods. Found a few up in western Mass. and CT a few years ago. Very cool.

He would have only been in his 20's when fighting the war of Northern Agression.

How's the tread life on the Jeep on the right?

Used to hunt Coopers creek years ago.

We road Charlie's creek and popcorn Road this past weekend, we weren't that far apart.

9 Jeeps met up in Hiawassee!!!!

I haven't liked the winch setup on the Jeep since I got it and also discovered it runs a bit hotter with the winch mounted. Got a flat plate to replace the raised Smittybilt plate, found the new no packaging Warn fairlead on Ebay for $20 shipped, one little nick on it and the radius is huge. Came across a never used Off Road Only winch rope and mounted it per Blaine's instructions. Changed the chrome tow hooks for TJ hooks. Cleaned the gear drive out and re-greased. And lost almost 35 lbs. Much better. (y)

Tore it all apart for currie suspension, Savvy arms, skid, 5.13s, arbs and chromo 30 and 35 spline shafts. Hpd30 going in as well. Driver side knuckle arrived yesterday for a tie rod flip.

Rms needs doing while I'm in there.

Lots of work to do but feeling motivated!

Looks like you a small doner Jeep for parts if needed 😉 … not sure your daughter would be happy tho’ 😬
