I have a 2000 Manual 4cyl TJ that is new to me. It finally snowed enough here for me to put it in 4H. I noticed when I pull the lever nothing shows up on dash. Should 4H be lit up on the dash? I don't notice any difference in the jeep when I pull the lever. whats your list of things that I need to look at to see what could be wrong?

Turn the wheels all the way to one side and drive it. You will know immediately if it's working or not.

This 👆👆 before you start swapping parts make sure it’s actually out. Went wheeling with a buddy that thought his clutch was out. He just didn’t pull the lever hard enough. Old jeeps can be finicky. Give it a good tug. 4hi can be shifted into at speed but wouldn’t be a bad idea to test all the way through. 4lo goes in at a stop or slow roll. 2wd is all way down, big click to 4hi, then neutral, then huge pull to 4 lo
