What did you do to your TJ today?

I finally got my new (to me) 2004 LJ back from my mechanic. They renewed everything under the car.
Today I installed Truck-lite headlights, replaced the front turn signal lenses with clear ones and amber bulbs, installed the black headlight bezels and the wrapped black Mopar chrome grille overlay.
I want to paint the front bumper and change the bleach bottles and get some LED fog lights to replace the 6" Oben's.

Went for a drive to visit my mate as he needed some help working on his 32 roadster… he’s recovering from chemo due to cancer so he doesn’t have the strength back in his hands and arms yet… really good to see him out and about and in good spirits.

I want a black grille on my yellow TJ as well. This looks great! I also want to do the same upgrade for the fog lights.

1000 yards, you better be practicing 2-3 days a week if you competition shoot.

What caliber are you shooting??

.308 cal for Palma which only allows 223 or 308. Open sights
I first started coming out to AZ in February just for a long range match. Then we started bringing out the TJ and exploring, staying a couple months in the camper.
I've got a few more practices to dial it in. The wind will kick your butt.

Out with the old springs, in with the new…..3” in front 2” in back. Measured for shocks and now I gotta do it all over again. NOT looking forward to that! I also cleaned the dried up mud/ sand out of the jounce stop tubes(?)

Used a piece of split flex conduit and some weather stripping to adapt the vacuum cleaner wand. (Don’t tell wifey!😂)

I replied earlier, but how did you wrap the grille? Got any guides that you followed?

I was lucky to find the Mopar chrome grille overlay. It's a sturdy steel part and fits nicely over the grille with plastic body fastener attachments.
Removing the grille is a job, but if you do, the wrapping process would be the same. A yard of 3M 2080 S12 Satin Black costs less than $50 delivered.
I just cleaned and polished the grille and then applied the film. I cut and trimmed the material so it overlapped on the inside about 1/4". The material will stretch a bit with mild heat applied.
If you're thinking about doing it, I would say try it. It's pretty easy to work with.

So, I live in a big city and my neighbor had his Jeep stolen. He said they are targeted by thieves a lot around here.

So, what are some anti theft things that I can do to the Jeep? One thing I heard was to install a switch in the dash, next to the fog light switch, and wire it to the fuel pump. Kind of a hidden in plain sight thing.

Any thoughts on this idea, or other anti theft ideas?
