not my vid but I thought this diesel hammer engine was pretty neat


Wow - I wonder how the fuel delivery works on that thing. I see the guy re-arming it after each stroke. I worked on an "island" where they were driving pilings for a new bridge. It wasn't this diesel contraption as I recall, but the thing shook the entire island. We all put out paper cups with water and joked about T-Rexes.

That's good, but it doesn't look like the one under discussion. The cylinder comes right off of the piston!

I think it's just inverted, looks like the piston is attached to the anvil and the cylinder (a short one) is attached to the hammer. Probably allows for a longer stroke and and more drive per strike. Maybe. :geek:
