What did you do to your TJ today?

my son and I took the china bumper off his jeep to find the previous owner hit something and indented the top of the frame and sheared off the welded nut that holds the bumper in the top end. Changed diff/TC fluids, and got my new BMagic winch line for the new to me Warn!

My favorite is when I buy $10 worth of hardware from Ace and then the next day I can't find the bag.

Was super confused because I had the bag of old bolts I brought to match against. I had to eat crow, because my kids are like "did you check the car?" And I had checked the car. Just not all of the car. SMH.

The trade target is actually a Rubicon, I just learned. I drove past it last night, looks to be stock height, black, with a hard top & auto. That's the extent of what I know. What does an unmolested rubi get on the open market these days?

Drove past it parked on the street during the daylight yesterday. Frame shows zero rust, no damage or rust on the body either, that I was able to see. I'm not getting any less interested, that's for sure.

Started on installing my lift, rear is done, front is about 25% done. Holy shit is it tall, I love it. A few issues popped up I'll have to address eventually, biggest 2 are the rear track bar contacting the exhaust and the fact that I have like 10% of my tires covered so I'll need to make a removable mud flap or something so I don't get hassled by the cops.

How much lift? OEM TB with relocation bracket or aftermarket TB? Just finished today removing a relocation bracket and moving the adjustable TB to the OEM location. I didn’t see any issues with it hitting the exhaust or gas tank. Mine is just a 3” lift.

From the advice of others decided to remove the rear TB relocation bracket, adjust the TB to mount at the original location at the axle, What I thought would be 2 hours at the most was 5.5 hours! Between trying to get it adjusted to the correct length, the bushing at the axle seeming to be 1/32” too wide, trying to move the axle to right spot was a pain! Also decided one can never have too many tools to assist in getting the job done.

And all that the axle is still 1/4” off!

4” is a lot. I could see the TB hitting the exhaust. Did it come with a relocation bracket or new TB? Will you need to drop the TC?

It did come with a bracket. Without it the contact would be even worse. I'm putting in a SSSYE so no TC drop for me

It’s tedious to say the least. But once set it’s set.

I am suprised it hits then. Maybe the relocation bracket doesn’t raise it enough. From what I looked at today looks like the TB clears everything. It does seem to have a decent bend up and over the exhaust. Plus I suspect the 4” have more drop than my 3” lift. Maybe the LJ has a little more room in that area too.

Traded a set of half door bottoms with no panels for a set of full hard doors. I’m pretty happy about having windows that roll down instead of unzip. Especially when it’s cold/rainy out. And they’re the right color.

When I had half doors I wanted full doors… Now that I have full doors I wish I had my half doors back… good looking rig!
