What did you do to your TJ today?

In case the question comes up, I went with "Dark Slate".

I went with Dark Slate for two reasons; one, that's what my build sheet says for interior color, and two, I have two-tone (black/charcoal) seat covers.

So even if it's slightly lighter than the original interior it's good with the colorway I already have.

So I had a Barnes Pritchett canyon front bumper with a winch guard. The guard was not tall enough to have a thimble fairlead from BMB. So with @mrblaine expert help the winch guard was cut off. I also purchased Savvy winch guard and light mounts. I used SD Powder Coating to powder coat everything since my rattle can job was so bad. It is all back together and looks soon much better. I'll post pictures from my phone, can't seem to post from my 2013 Mac Air...

Did Jeep ever make half door inner panels in dark slate? All I've seen is a light gray and my interior is dark. I'd say it's black.

2003 New Interior Colors:
  • Dark Slate replaces Agate
  • Khaki replaces Camel
p.s. Mine has dark slate gray interior listed on the build sheet.

What method did you use to calibrate it? I need to do mine, 2006 6sp Rubicon. I’ve seen a few post about it but not sure how the parts work to calibrate it.

Plug this thing inline between the harness and the vss sensor on the transfer case, click the button a few times (easy to follow videos) and then ziptie it up. Total time: 8 minutes.

I don't know what they did, honestly. I went over many threads here looking at comparisons and knew what I didn't want.

I see people paint them black and I know my full door panels are almost black, but not totally black. The interior latches and handles are darker. So that threw out the really black shades.

This looks close enough for me, so I'm not complaining. (I even considered a dark khaki just because I just like it.)

(Edit: Thanks @TheBoogieman for dropping that bit. I think I saw that info somewhere in my research, so I figured agate was out.)

We may need a companion thread "What should I do to my TJ today".

I have plenty of To-Do's, but when I turn the key and it starts and drives, it is on the bottom of my Spring To-Do list.

Taxes, lawn, hot tub, motorhome are all eating up my time right now.

I did hose the pollen off this morning, it was back by noon.

Thank you, I’ll take a look at it. I looked up online but didn’t see any instructions etc. Didn’t think YouTubing it 🤪.

Peeled the old wrap off this hood and installed a black wrap to match the rest of the paint. Turned out quite well. If only there wasn’t so much pollen and wind today, might have been done 2 hours earlier.

Well from way up there (somewhere) it looks great!!!

I wasn't planning on getting to the half door exteriors today, but I dug in.

Hot damn, I've been wet sanding them for hours. Totally lost track of time. I think I'm packing up for the night.

However, the interior panels at least now look the part.
