What did you do to your TJ today?

Exactly. I only went there because they had oil changes for $19.95, which included topping off fluids, checking the brakes and rotating the tires. I stopped going after getting into an argument with the manager and calling him some choice names.

When I go to any while you wait repair place, I watch them like a hawk. I don't sit in the waiting room reading magazines. I usually strike a conversation with the mechanic so he doesn't feel like I don't trust him. When I lived in Dallas most shops wouldn't let you go into the repair area. I usually ignored it! 😁

They "improved" the one from Spicer that they copied by centering the hole pattern on the tang so no matter which way you flip it, you are no closer to lining up on the peg on the inner nut.

I remember that from your "Does anyone else get tired of dealing with a company's crap?" thread awhile back. You have to be a special kind of idiot to look at at a product that's asymmetric and go, "we should make that prettier..." without also following up with, "...but, wait, maybe there's reason the tang is not centered on a hole." Not to mention a company putting unqualified people in a technical job. That seems to be at epidemic proportions these days (actually all jobs, not just technical.)

Like you said, it must be the noise and vibration through the steering column. When I'm in 18 F150 I feel like I'm in an isolation chamber. Greatforlongtrips. In the tj it's more like a blender. God, I Love-um both! 🤗

100% agree! Glad I was able to get the sound better by moving the mic, but at the end of the day, if it hadn't made any difference it wouldn't have bothered me! Just icing on the cake that it actually helped!

Thats such a cool thing to have but I dont think I have that available in my area but I will keep searching.

It's an interesting idea for sure. @wborisenok posted it last fall, so I checked them out and said why not.

Hate paying to store stuff, but sometimes it's worth it. A business opportunity for you to start :D!

I would hate to even see what they get for storage fee's in your area though.

Finally, some good news on the return parcel to Amazon After they sent me the wrong item...Amazon finally agreed to pay for the return of the item and sent me a USD $650.00 pre-paid sticker to give to DHL. 🥳 The item has just arrived back in Vegas (Amazon return Dept ) Hopefully now Amazon can process my refund (which is the next stage of this drama) Stay tuned.. :p

Just want to publicly say a huge thanks to @red02tj for his help and pointing me in the right direction and talking to the right people......Thanks again mate your a legend.

Not today, but yesterday. Finished installing my Rocker Guards. Can't really call em sliders, but I feel like they offer a little protection. As soon as I was done installing them, Wifey came outside and said "is the Jeep back together? "

"Yep"

"Cool. Wanna take me for a ride?"

"You bet."

We ran through a trail we haven't been on, and got into a dry creek bed. Then climbed an trail up the side of a mountain I've been on many times. Great distraction from the plumbing crap, and there's nothing like spending a few hours in a topless jeep with a pretty girl riding shotgun.

Jeep is dusty, but it earned it.

You’ve got a good one there don’t ever let her go… ( and the wife too😉 )

My PRP seats came in today, so naturally I had to install them. I need to install the wiring harness for the heated feature.

They are about 1.5" taller than stock, which I'm fine with. I feel like I can see the front end of the TJ better now. I do need to do some modifications to the brackets to move the seats towards the middle about an inch. The side upper bolster gets pushed in when the door is shut and the recline handle hits the door.

These are a million times more comfortable than the stock seats.

I like the white wagon(?) wheels!
Edit: which wheels are those? offset?

What's the orange strap you're using to hold the back of the top? Would you mind sharing more details of how it attaches to the top?

Sure, updated since those pics. The orange strap was just a Harbor Freight tie down. I was trying to find something that was thin, strong, flexable so I could close the rear hatch.

The base is a cross bar from an old top hoist kit, that was in the back of the Jeep when I bought it. I took suggestions from @All 4 Wheelin' and set the bar to size and tack welded the loose joints.

the sides are just threaded J hooks. The chip in the door seal came from using the orange strap. It fiberglass, so I think it can fixed, but I have no idea how, I've never worked with fiberglass.

The rear is also a suggestion from @All 4 Wheelin' . A piece of all thread welded to a thin metal strap that I bent to match the rear lip and still let the hatch close without damaging things.

I have had a vibration problem since installing my Savvy skid over the Fourth of July weekend. After countless pinion angle adjustments and two new Tom Woods driveshafts the only thing that makes them go away is to remove the front driveshaft. So I ordered the Yukon WU-07 Hub kit.

After checking parts everything appears to be correct.

Someday soon I have to imagine there will be “smart” household water systems that can detect if there’s flow that doesn’t match faucet valve status and immediately shut off the main and notify the owner.
Similarly we had to replace our well water system when multiple components failed in sequence. A smart system could have stopped it and notified us at the first sign of failure. Maybe even warned us of degrading condition before failure, instead of no outward signs until catastrophe.

It is called a “Buoy” System. More will come.

Thanks for the response. The reason I was asking is because I bought the Lange adapter that allows you to keep the window closed, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable using it. It's pretty thick, the fit is AWFULLY tight, and I don't want to force the window closed.

Fuel pump arrived and installed it. Dropping the tank took 10 minutes. It took longer to find a decent video of what needed to be disconnected than the job itself. I think it took an hour or so. Everything was doing great until last night. Pulled a tick off my ankle 2 days ago and noticed last night it was swollen and had a rash. Went to the doctor to get checked out, now I have Lyme disease. The fun never stops. 🥳
