What did you do to your TJ today?

Who knows. The carpet was out when I bought it. Other than that, it was all stock.

I can't say all tubs came from the factory with them installed, but I do know my LJ came new with factory carpet and does have some male snap halves attached to the metal tub in and around the front seat bases to hold the carpet sections in place.

Sure, updated since those pics. The orange strap was just a Harbor Freight tie down. I was trying to find something that was thin, strong, flexable so I could close the rear hatch.

The base is a cross bar from an old top hoist kit, that was in the back of the Jeep when I bought it. I took suggestions from @All 4 Wheelin' and set the bar to size and tack welded the loose joints.

the sides are just threaded J hooks. The chip in the door seal came from using the orange strap. It fiberglass, so I think it can fixed, but I have no idea how, I've never worked with fiberglass.

The rear is also a suggestion from @All 4 Wheelin' . A piece of all thread welded to a thin metal strap that I bent to match the rear lip and still let the hatch close without damaging things.

Glad I could help.

Made some mounting posts for my front sway bar quick-disconnects. Drilled and tapped a hole in the frame then drilled a hole in two bolts I had laying around. Cut the bolt heads off then threaded them in and added a few tack welds for added strength. Sprayed the inside and outside with frame coating.

Just a few thoughts on the ticks...
I backpack.. a lot.
Every season I soak just about everything in Permethrin. Shoes, socks, shorts, shirts, hats, pants, sun sleeves.. everything except my underwear. Just can't get comfortable with the Permethrin against my nuts..
I soak the stuff and then sun dry. Repeat it about half way through the heavy season.
My hammocks (no tents for me) get sprayed. The hammocks that have bug nets get sprayed.
I use a permethrin cream on exposed skin.

So, pretty much everything is treated.

With all this done, I have still found ticks crawling up the leg of my pants that have been freshly treated. On my shoes. I've found them on my legs that have been treated (nice to have hairy legs.. you can feel the tickling as the bugs travel). Seems like nothing REALLY stops them. Finding them and killing them is an end-of-day camp ritual.

I can tell you first hand, they drop out of trees. Most will do as @Rickyd describes.. hangout on the ends of long grass waiting for something to pass by close enough to hitch a ride. But I stopped on the trail under some pine trees to check my location.. looking down at my hands holding the map and from directly above a tick lands on the back of left hand. If I didn't see it land on me I would call bullshit.. but I saw it. So there's that..

Same here. Permethrin is the best defense. I use it in my backcountry adventures and when I'm in the field for work (land development engineer, so I spend time on undeveloped properties).

Drove it to work just like every other day!!!!!

Never get tired of looking at BB!!!!

Been daily driving mine since I got it. It is more fun to drive than my Silverado and it keeps miles off the truck. Luckily I work from home, but do drive to the airport very frequently and to job sites within a couple hours.

The new PRP seats make it a lot better.

I wish something would get rid of the fourth tick type that bothers the most people in the US. ;)

This is key. Actually naked and check every damn inch. Amazing how many I’ve removed. They need a couple days to transfer disease but better safe than sorry.
I’m on my way in from the yard right now having a smoke before. I’m in and to the shower and full check. Needs to be done.
Fuck Lyme. Fuck Cancer. Nuff said. 🇺🇸

Fuel pump arrived and installed it. Dropping the tank took 10 minutes. It took longer to find a decent video of what needed to be disconnected than the job itself. I think it took an hour or so. Everything was doing great until last night. Pulled a tick off my ankle 2 days ago and noticed last night it was swollen and had a rash. Went to the doctor to get checked out, now I have Lyme disease. The fun never stops. 🥳

So sorry to hear about that. 🤢 You and I both live in part of the country with lots of ticks. Here, in the Virginia mountains we try to spray ourselves every time we go outside gardening and check each other coming back inside. Still, we've pulled a lot of ticks. Had to go to the doctor two years ago for antibiotics when the head broke of under the skin trying to pull the thing out.
Glad the install went well.

Next to my Solar Yellow, black is my favorite!

Yup, we get naked too. To check for ticks!

Changed the door hinge bushings. The bottoms on both sides drove right out; the tops, not so much. The tops took about 45 minutes each with a punch and a hammer to get out.

Also found a spot in the material on my new seats. There is a corner there on the frame. Guess I'll see what PRP says on Monday.

You sleep in a hammock while camping? Man, you're hardcore💪. We got bears here in Virginia mountains. Lots of them. You gotta have a tent and 45 magnum wouldn't hurt either! I can deal with the snakes but bears?
I've heard ticks can jump from trees. You're right hairy legs. They help. Although my wife says they tickle!

Emptied out the blower motor of a half pound of dirt, debris, dried up bugs and a mystery 2"x2" piece of foam?
It's a lot quieter now! But I noticed the air intake door is flopping around and I REALLY don't feel like taking the AC housing out to fix it !?@%$
