What did you do to your TJ today?

It’s a shame but I’m not surprised… the shape is still as streamlined as a barn with a 4 man tent for a roof 😂

My daughter has a stock 98 TJ Sahara as her daily driver. It does okay on gas, but her school and part time job are both less than 5 miles from home. She graduates this year and In the fall when she starts at her new school it will be a 40 mile commute back and forth to school. I'm betting the mileage will be more of an issue then. But she really loves her Jeep so I bet she will just pay to play like the rest of us.

Dealing with a case of PAS - Parts Acquisition Syndrome. I've had a lunchbox locker in hand for over a year now, but when I install it, I want to replace all the rusty crap on each front wheel - the brake calipers in particular are a horrid mass of rust as are the knuckles. I bought NOS Crown wheel bearings and ball joints from a fellow Jeeper locally - some time ago. I bought the Knuckles more recently, and painted them red. The only other major thing to obtain were the brake calipers - sourced those from BMB, of course. I also wanted to replace the spindle nut and associated hardware. Ordered all that from Denney's Driveshafts, but it seemed that NOBODY had the little "wave spring" that fits between the nut and the keeper. Finally found them on eBay - turns out the seller had encountered the same thing, so when he found them, he had to buy in bulk, so he's selling the extras off.

Just today, I ordered Centric brake hoses from Rock Auto, I already have the knuckle to bearing bolt set and even new bump stop bolts - genuine MOPAR. I even have new internal axle seals and the tool to deal with them as well as new U-joints. I "think" I'm ready to go - I've been working on this fucking house for about 2 years with only minimal time to put this stuff on.

About the only good thing on the front wheels are the rotors and the brake pads because they were changed out by the dealer I bought it from.

Meanwhile I quit obsessing about where to put my license plate and just drilled some new holes. I mean, what's two more holes through the tub at this point

How easy was it to roll the plate to get it to fit the fender? I like that a lot!!! I guess Minnesota don't care about no stinking night light for the plate?

Side note/fun fact: I always say Minnesota as Men-Uh-Soda in a horrid "Northern accent." I'm from the south.

Took a minute, it's easy. We are required plate illumination, but I'm only taking it out for quick drives during the day right now to test some changes. I've got LEDs for it I need to wire up

Getting a wheel alignment today after the collision with the freeway cones on the weekend…. Apparently it was way off… Which I already knew as it was pulling to the left while driving
