Hello folks, I am 16 and I made a dumb decision.

A while back I added a 2 inch spring spacer to the front and a .75 spacer in the rear. It looks great, I have 31's and I think it looks awesome. Only problem was, I was on stock shocks and the ride quality is meh. I decided to research shocks to buy, and the winner was Rancho rs5000x. So many people love them and I've heard so many things about them. I was excited and didn't pay attention and just ordered ranch shocks for a 2-3 inch lift, thinking it would be okay since I do, have a 2 inch lift. I was severely mistaken. While installing them I had bolts snap on the rear and the ones on the front are completely rusted. It took me 12 hours to remove and install 4 shocks. I could feel when I was installing them that they weren't decompressing very far and they seemed to be too far compressed. After all this work I took it out for a drive and it had the same, if not worse ride quality than before. I was so pissed. I though well maybe my stock ones just drive amazing and this is what everyone drives with. But I figure not. SO, I need to find the correct Rancho rs5000x shocks for a 2 inch lift up front and a .75 inch on back. I hope that I can get a refund on the shocks. Idk if it's possible, but I sure as hell am gonna try. I would appreciate part numbers and recommendations. Preciate it folks.

Are you sure the front ones will be alright? They have 2 extra inches in there, and those are made for stock ride height right?

The Rancho's run a bit long, so I would definitely go with the 0-2" version up front. The details matter, so cycling suspension is paramount to knowing what free and compressed length shock one wants to run. The OP should do this to know.

Personally, I would not run a 2" spacer up front and a 1/2" in the rear to erase rake. Rake is natural and looks correct and drives correct. The moment you add weight to the back with that setup the front gets light and the Jeep won't track well.

Cycle your suspension with the coils removed and determine what length shocks you need. Buying shocks based on "X" amount of lift is the wrong way of doing it.

Yes, the Ranchos do run long. @TJim calculated here and here that the "stock height" set are actually ideal for 1–1.5" of lift in front and 0.5–1" in back. In case it helps, some other notes on stock-length shocks are here.

But yes, cycling your suspension is the best way to know exactly what length shock you want for your setup. Also, if you do order new Ranchos, give them a few compressions by hand before you mount them. I've read about (and have experienced) some inconsistencies in their quality control.

Share part numbers and photos of the shocks you can’t use. I or someone else may be interested if you can’t get a refund. 😉
