You forgot the stroker or LS swap and wontons.
Wait - the guy came here for good adviceā¦.
LS, Schmell Sā¦..
You forgot the stroker or LS swap and wontons.
I had to look it up to see if I was safe with this one (10 years). This is why youāre on what, #3 you said?

"Virginia does not recognize common-law marriages. Unlike some other states, in Virginia, a couple cannot acquire marital rights and responsibilities by living together for a particular period of time."
Then you need to go straight to a 4ā suspension lift. Hereās the thread you should study.

Tire size? Look into the Zone 4.25" combo lift with the shocks of your choice. You can add other stuff if/when you need it.
He's doing better than one of my crazy ass aunts. She's on marriage #10 or 11 now. I know of at least twice she has woken up to a note that pretty much said "fuck off, I'm gone" If she's not single now, she will be soon if anybody is looking.
He will have to wait for those, until he gets a second job, and his wife divorces him. I hope he doesn't have kids. The child support will cut into his funds to build a capable Jeep to get to the fishing hole.
Thanks that was some good info. I plan on going with the Clayton 4ā which has 8 arms. Iāll do a SYE. Gears and other modifications if needed and keep it to 33ās.
I want the look and performance of a 4 inch lift max...
Thanks for all the posts. After looking into things, I canāt go into this on the cheap. I know better than trying to half ass it.So your first post you said you didnāt want to spend when you donāt have to.
Folks tried to show how you can split the difference, not spend a ton but get your goals.
If this later post is your position, āIād like 4ā suspension and be ready for 35āsā. Then ok, you absolutely wonāt be saving a few coinsā¦..if you do it right as you suggested.
Youāll need all 8 Arms at 4ā lift, if doing it right.
Youāll need a SYE or SSSYE,
Youāll need Axle upgrades and gearing upgrade
Youāll need a new driveshaft rear, possibly front but doubt it.
Youāll need extended brake lines and most likely brake upgrades
Youāll need track bar upgrades to adjustable

33s here with combo lift. Regearing isn't cheap. Do it once.

If youāre going to go with a 4 inch lift and SYE, you might as well add a 1ā body lift and target 35s when you regear. Some 3 inch lifts will net you enough to run 33s. With a 4 inch and all thatās involved I would shoot for 35.
I think youāre on the edge of an expensive slippery slope. You need to spend some time on this site looking at what it takes to go from stock to reliably running 35s before thinking about that. If you just want the look of a lifted Jeep, I'd recommend keeping it simple and smaller, with 2-3" springs and a 1" body lift on 33s. You'll still need to be geared an acceptable ratio. Going to 35s will take quite a bit more.

I think I my best option is doing it right the first time. Replace necessary components as needed to maintain a quality ride. I think thatās far more important than trying to save a few coins. Iāll be guaranteeing myself a solid jeep

Make an educated decision and go for it.
