TJ overheating at idle

Update

If i am at idle and temperature rises to 225 and i turn off the AC the temp starts to decrease to 213-214

Nothing meaningful there, but that does reinforce my thoughts that your fan clutch isn't strong enough to move the needed air.

That IS NORMAL. The AC will add extra heat to the system because of how AC systems are designed. The condenser is on the front of the radiator so that heat is passing through the radiator.

This is normal,my system is all new and all mopar,on a hot day we have to turn the ac off if we get stuck in traffic, ect.now that I have the better tupy head ,I wonā€™t be so concerned about slight temperature swings as much.

Me too. When traffic starts moving well, I can turn my AC back on. It's only a problem on a really hot day, stuck at a standstill on the highway. So far, it only happened once. This is why I try to stay out of the 115 degree temperatures in the San Fernando Valley during the summer.

Checkout the last 5 pages of this thread out i used a 19in derale 6 blade fan (17919) and a (22160) usmw fan clutch and have had very good results in temp reduction at idle comparing head to head with the stock fan keep in mind you will need to modify your factory shroud to make sure it doesnt contact the larger fan and its a bit louder. https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/improving-the-cooling-on-our-tjs.63812/page-31#post-1568159

A lot of folks will say 225F is normal. I would say that it is how the stock TJ runs hot in idle, but it can be better.
I am using 6 blade fan with Hayden 2791 fan clutch, the temperature creep in idle is much much less.

The additional issue is that I believe that there is a need for electrical fan to add airflow for AC. I will be adding one that will work with AC
