My friend Tim came over and we removed the LJ hardtop, and battled with an ebay find ...trying to install a briefly used soft top. Mission accomplished. took us 2 hours, but was first time. I am confused though-— if I want to open the top completely, do I have to remove the "pull pins" that hold the top bow ? they are so tight I cant pull one out, and on the one I did pull out, the hole for the pin moved back about 1.5cm.

I think the top has shrunk a bit and just needs to sit in warm sun a while.. I read owners manual better and now understand what I needed to to... sorry for asking dumb question!

Installed a 3/4" OME t-case skid drop. I know, I know, worst of the 3 main vibe remedies, but had to keep the expense as low as possible for now. Plus it was the easiest install being a noob DIYer. Was just gonna use washers, but couldn't source the needed longer bolts anywhere locally.

Good news is that it cured my vibes!! But I'm thinking I'm going to have to get under there with some black paint!

I don’t know, they sure are purty! ;)

At least you don’t have vibes! A lot of us did the same till we could MML or SYE

I have the 6-speed and as many know, 2nd can be a bear. Just need to go slow and easy shifting in. I’d been reading about Redline MTL transmission fluid smoothing things out. So I finally got my 14 and 17mm hex sockets, the Redline MTL and went for it. So far the shifting has improved significantly. Even more fun to drive.

Also, the Crown lower body mounts are about 2mm thicker than stock. I trimmed them down with a cutting blade on my angle grinder and installed. Perfect!

Haha, yeah real purty! Hey, check out my shiny spacers![emoji23]

Exactly, I'm hoping it's a fairly temporary fix.

The MML solution is not bad. Brown Dog is $115. It’s a good mod anyway, especially with a small BL, sets you up for a TT. Then you can SYE later.

If your mounts are in good shape, you can use the JKS blocks for about 75 bucks. I have them but unfortunately still have some vibs. Waiting on a low profile Nth degree trans mount that will hopefully solve the issue.

No such thing as a dumb question....we're all on the learning ladder here....some are further up the ladder than most and some (like me ) have yet to even find the ladder
