Installed my a morryde kit on my 02 TJ. Followed directions and watched vids to make sure all done correctly. All bolts are tight and nothing lose. The tailgate closes fine when no tire on, but once I put a 33” tire on the back, it sags and I am unable to close tailgate.

Has anyone else had this issue and can recommend a fix?
Gone through whole system twice, loosening everything up and attempting to realign, with no luck. Appreciate any help or suggestion.

I had to "preload" my tailgate alignment a touch for a little sag from my 35.

I need a stock TJ tire carrier...the one I'm using holds the tire out to far.

Overall I'm not happy and will be going with @Fluxor 's aluminum kit once I stop breaking things long enough to save up a little money.

When hanging the gate on the hinges, the latch side needs to be lifted up enough to compensate for the added weight of the tire. This will take a few tries to get right.

When I was installing mine I folded up a piece of cardboard and stuffed it underneath the tailgate closest to the latch side, lifting that side up a bit as I tightened down the tailgate hinges. That worked for me.
