Rockauto and AZ

I know some of you dont care for RA, however for many of us its a huge cost savings supplier compared to the likes of the big box ap stores. I just tried to place an order and found they will NO longer ship to AZ over a tax dispute as of 23 or so. Does anybody have any actual links to whomever might have some clout in this matter to get things going again?
Its just fooking ridiculous to literaly pay $67.99 at oreileys for the same Motorcraft part, RH150, that R/A charges $19.94 for. There is NO excuse for this.

Yeah, that sales tax thing is frustrating. I have used RA for years and can’t now due to that issue. I saw on Summit Racing web site they will price match other sites, so that may be an option.

Your location says Kentucky. Did you move?

Walmart has it for $25.88 plus $6.99 shipping.

That's been trouble for several on here for awhile. The double whammy happens when my friends in AZ need a Mopar part from RA. Typically we circumvent their little pissing match by them shipping items to me and I ship to them in AZ. Sadly, Mopar has declined to fill out the Prop 65 paperwork so RA won't ship any Mopar parts to CA.

The legal side of that fascinates me on the surface. AZ's position is RA owes taxes because they have a physical presence in the state and are a distributor.
Rock Auto owns zero inventory, they own zero warehouses, they employ zero personnel in any state except their home office.

We did indeed. Back to the White Mtns of AZ about 3 weeks ago. Here's a link to a AZ news article if anybody is interested. You guys are correct in that amazon and a couple others say they have that part. Here's what I find the pisser. The housing is no good without a new O ring. Ford gets $3 for one. I looked at just about every on line source I could find to order both parts. Housing, $25 to $35 then they charge $20 to $25 for the O ring. Thats just stupid for an O ring ford sells for $3. IIRC, neither Ebay nor Amazon had the O ring listed as available in OEM anyhow which I prefer.
I did find both at an online Ford dealer and ordered both parts. It was just so easy to pick everything, and away it went to your location.
In a nut shell the court case is still in limbo and potentially the Supreme Court may vote in R/A's favor, we will have to see. Looks like calls to our politicians are to late.

Living in PA, I laugh whenever I get a Prop 65 warning label on my purchases. I amount of energy used and waste created to make the warning paperwork/sticker has to outweigh any benefit.

We have a similar problem with getting stuff shipped to Ca. Amazon won’t ship small engine parts such as carburetors but I can get all I need shipped from Ebay sellers.
I was talking to a clerk at Tractor Supply in Bullhead Az where I bought my wood stove for my shop that I could not get in Ca. He said that they sold a lot of gas lawnmowers at their store even though there are very few lawns locally. The vast majority of sales go to Ca residents.
I’m going up to Idaho to visit a buddy of mine and I had some pesticides and herbicides that I can’t buy here shipped to his house.

Prop 65 is an example of unintended consequences. It seemed like a good idea at the time, I voted for it myself. Its now COMPLETELY meaningless, they might as well repeal it.

Prop 65 warnings are on everything out here and it stops no one from buying a product with the label. Most stores post a sign at the entrance and I’ve yet to see anyone turn around. Reminds me of the boy who cried wolf. No way to tell if there is a legitimate threat or not.

Taking the time to research other on line suppliers I find a ford dealer and order the housing I needed. Weird as it was to be sold thru Autoparts Nation, not Ford. Anyhow I get a email 4 days later telling me sorry, we can find that part you ordered. So we'll refund your C/C asap. WTF does that mean? ASAP? Advertise the part with pics, listed as in stock, and once ordered its we don't have it after we've taken your money? Another stella business.
I think I'm make "falling down "part# 2 between the shithole of a house we bought that is like the movie Tom hanks made "money pit", the new $400 windshield I just put in my truck having the rubber self disintegrate, the first trip to town in the wife's 4runner and having the windshield busted out, that's number 4 windshield cause these fucks don't abide by the tarp laws in AZ, and I wont even mention the shit falling apart on the home were trying to sell in KY. Fuck me...rant over. A cave to call home in is looking better every day.
