And how do you like it? This is pretty high on my list of future carpet replacement options. currently in a dead heat price-wise with the best carpet kit I can find...and I do understand it isn't anything like carpet (which is why I'm interested).

I was hesitant to order it due to cost, but it really does seem like the best solution. Not a dream to install, but not really bad, just a bit stiff. I really like the finished product.

My wife likes it enough I ordered it for her JL when I was at EJS.

IIRC, you should be able to find a 10% discount on it, I think we got 20% off on a two person order at EJS at the booth.

There should be a couple install pics in my build thread if you want to see how it looks.

Bought a set of Milwaukee flush cut pliers today. After getting them, as an addition to a portable tool kit, they are not nearly as nice as the set of Klein, made in USA, pliers @mrblaine recommended. The Milwaukee grip is much narrower, and the movement isn't as smooth. They're not bad, just not up to the value and quality of the Klein tool.

FWIW, the Klein mini cut pliers are heavily used and a "go-to" tool. Also, the price difference is about $1 more expensive for the Klein tool.

The timing of this post was somewhat uncanny. I've been looking for a decent pair of precision/electronic flush cutters for quite a while now, and the options I was entertaining were either overpriced quality or underpriced junk. For 12 clams, I've got a pair on the way and I might just go for another if they work out. Klein hasn't done me dirty yet. ;)

The Klein cutters arrived and I'm good with them. Decent spring pressure and the cutting edges are well ground and close flush, the latter being the biggest issue I've seen in cheaper cutters.

Also received another Klein package today. I know folks have posted deals on both SAE and Metric sets here when Lowes runs them at like 40% off, but I've always missed the deal. I've had both bookmarked on Amz for a while now, mostly as a reminder that I wanted to grab a set of each. Last week, I noticed the price for the SAE set on Amz dropped to $45 from $80, so I ordered. I was going to post the deal here but when I went back later to confirm, the price had gone back up. Anyway, they seem like decent wrenches, interested to see how they perform in the wild. Now to find the metric set on a deal...

$13 for Klein flush cutters?
I paid less than a dollar for flush cutters at harbor freight and they cut zip ties flush just fine.
You people must hate having money in your pocket.

Cut more than zip ties repeatedly and I suspect yours may not fare so well. If I had to guess, for $1.00, your cutting edges likely have the hardness of old cheddar cheese and probably aren't ground flush to boot. Not useful in my shop.

Added bonus, the Klein cutters are US made. The HF, well...to each their own, you do you. :sneaky:

I've had those Kleins for over 4 years now and they still work

They're actually noted for cutting metal wire, max gauge is published on the tool. That's the main reason I bought them, for tight/small electrical wire work.

Like I said, cut anything but and I bet they don't last for long. I'm not knocking your decision to buy them, and it sounds like they work well enough for your needs.

I'm not sure, but I'd still rather have it made within our borders than beyond, provided there's quality. But if something is coming from overseas, China typically finds itself at the bottom of the list of quality options, with some exceptions. They can make good shit, but that depends quite a bit on what the customer is paying them to make. In most case, it's cheap shit that will end up in a landfill in a year or two...if not six months... 😖

I'd prefer that corporations that scam the H1B program have their assets liquidated and their executives jailed. I'd rather buy stuff from China than support "American Made" in such a case. In fact I could make the argument that buying finished goods exclusively from China and boycotting US corporations could actually be more beneficial to the US economy over the long term.

The American corporations, chili_pepper, they tried to turn me into a gay homo. I'll never forget that.
