Best XJ Replacement Cylinder Head These Days

I've been offline for a while, but not new here. I recently bought a 2000 xj for my 16 year old son that has the notorious cracked cylinder head. I've done a fair amount of research with no results that give much confidence toward a decision on a replacement. So much i have found is 10 years old. Looking for new, non junkyard option but not a $2k Elebrock aluminum version. I'm looking for recommendations that y'all have run?

Go with a ProMaxx CHR640N, Titan new TUPY-style head, or genuine OEM TUPY 0331 head.

Clearwater makes a good cast iron replacement head .

Clearwater just filed for Chapter 7 at the end of July. People that already had orders in are fighting to get their money back.

A used Tupy head in decent condition would likely provide many years of service. I'm sure there have been Tupy heads that have cracked, but I personally haven't heard about one.

ProMaxx is likely your best option for new. Will you be reusing the valves/springs from the cracked head? If not, know that original parts will be hard to source. If you are planning to get a new complete head assembly, it will be pricey.

I ended up ordering a complete head from Heavy Duty Parts Company on the recommendation of a jeeping friend. They seem to be a reliable and reputable company so we'll see! Thanks for your replies.
