Relating to the pump I replaced, I noticed that it's taking a little longer to start than with the last two pumps I had. Now, I need to wait a few seconds before cranking, and it's taking a few seconds to fire (around 5 or so). I do not like this.
I sort of understand the cooling/dumping aspect of an internal pump.
I like the ease of an in line pump/filter setup. Which would be easy to put along the frame and protect with the tank skid.
I had the same start issue on a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Had to hold the key for a second or two before start to build up the correct rail pressure. Unfortunately I fixed that by replacing the pump ... like you just did.

I had high hopes for this one. My army buddy, a very skilled mechanic who builds many cars/trucks recommended Carter and said that's what he puts in his builds. I will be complaining to him about this as well.
Seems like it's getting to that point. Haha. I did have the tank dropped, pump replaced and back up within an hour so it's not terrible.
Be careful. There are certain people here will call you, and I quote, "an idiot" for having such a mod.
That hi lift jack has been gone 4ever,I just use the factory tj jack now.and I do like the 10 minute fuel pump changes.
Nope, the access panel for the top of tank and fuel pump will have a certain person calling you "an idiot".
I installed it when I did the tummy tuck and savvy skid that raises the tank after the body lift.(and I didn’t get any STICKERS)
