Good. I wrote myself up TWICE for PPE violations resulting in preventable injuries.
1: I was wearing safety glasses, but really should have been wearing my forestry helmet. A stick about 1" think and 2.5' long somehow whipped around and smacked me upside the head hard enough to draw blood. The hard hat would have totally blocked it.
2: I knew there was poison oak there but still chose not to wear long sleeves. Now I've got a nice rash on my arms.
There was a 3rd safety incident last weekend, but no write-up. I was using the hoe to dig up star thistle and found a yellowjacket nest. I got stung on my neck but my wife got it worse even though she was farther away, and got hit a half-dozen times. She was showing some reaction symptoms the next day so I took her to urgent care and they gave her a course of prednisone.
The corrective action here is a general reminder to watch out for those angry SOBs. They're especially nasty this time of year.
