gg1, I've never needed one but you never know, I figure that I may be able to help someone elseIs there a reason for a fire extinguisher? I took mine out.
There are tradeoffs for everything and I'm willing to take that risk. I'd rather be able get to it and remove and use it if I'm upside down or on my side and it's on fire. Also that spring-steel clip is stronger than it looks, it takes a firm pull to remove the extinguisher.I've been wanting to buy the Jerry style mount for a while, how would that fair in an accident though? From the looks of it the extinguisher pulls out from the pressurized spring clips, I'd imagine in an accident the thing would go flying into your feet/ankles
not sure what you are asking, ABC are types of fires, extinguishers use CO2 or a chemical compound to cool and remove O2 from the fire, if I remember correctly PKP is a type of chemical specifically for Class B fires, but will work on A and CABC vs Purple K might be interesting. Isn't there some kind of compatibility issue if PK is mixed with the more common ABC?

pulling from firefighting in the Navy ... a Loooong time ago
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purple-K?wprov=sfla1Purple-K should never be mixed with phosphate-based fire suppression agents (ABC dry chemical), as the resulting chemical reaction will destroy its efficiency.

By brother-in-law is a Chicago firefighter and he recommended these.
https://elementfire.com/pages/comparisonI have one of the 100’s in the back of the Jeep. They never expire or need to be charged. A typical 5lb ABC extinguisher will discharge in about 10-15 seconds , the element 100 takes 100 seconds. Hopefully I never get a chance to test it.
5lb@Jerry Bransford what size fire extinguisher are you fitting under your seat? I really like your setup. From the link you supplied it looks like the bracket is made for 5 lbs fire extinguishers. Is that what you are fitting? Thank you.
